LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new home. Alvarez provides a well built house with excellent products and service. Their representatives are hard-working, knowledgeable and professional. Any problems we incurred were handled quickly and to our satisfaction. I highly recommend an Alvarez home!

Their construction is not that great, but o.k. Their problem is they use bad maybe cheap contractors for electric wiring, electronic stuff, tile, air conditioning units, garage door. You are likely to get into these issues if you buy their houses. They will not do anything after closing.

Stay clear of any new construction homes with Alvarez Construction. The absolute worst out of all the builders in the area. There is Zero quality control. You’ll find items such as holes in house (mice problems), cracked slabs/foundation, and elementary carpentry work. Stay clear, don’t make the same mistake I did.

Carlos Alvar z refuses to acknowledge or fix any issues with my home. I have cracks in ceiling, 1/4 inch cracks in slab, guest bath tub has been cracked and unable to be used since March, etc. This builder has been giving me the runaround since November and has not resolved any items that were stated in my Certified Letter sent to him over 90 days ago. Worst experience I have every witnessed in this industry.

This company's primary concern is closing the initial sale on one of their homes. Once you have signed the purchase agreement you are thrown to the side and only acknowledged when they need something from you. I signed the purchase agreement on my new construction home on 7/28/16. The home was supposed to be completed mid to late December, then pushed back to early January. Now it has been pushed back again to the end of February. Carlos and his employees take no responsibility and only blame others for their lack of competence. My first home buying experience has been nothing short of a nightmare with this company. It goes against all that a business should stand for, they are excellent at over promising and under delivering. I would not condone anyone, unless you have an unlimited time frame, to hire this company for a new construction home.

I would NEVER use this builder again. A lot of issues still not addressed after six weeks from my act of sale. I swear they move their employees around weekly. I’ve lost track of how many people I’ve had to deal with. A list was submitted, some major like the windows having a lot of condensation on the inside. A front door that leaks water on the inside, paint on the floors throughout the home, loaner appliances, cosmetic issues, wrong toilets installed. The alarm company has been here four times already. Still can’t get that working properly. So much for their “team” of people that go through prior to your walk through to take care of things. Ha! Did not do their job. Then I’m asked when did I found these issues. Doesn’t matter to me, they need to be fixed!
Two months after signing my contract (I was the first person to sign) nothing was done for two months. I was told permit issues. Funny because lots of other houses were going up around me. Then I’m sent a video showing finally, what was done. I get to the location only to see that NOTHING was done, that the person took video of the wrong lot. Oh and they failed to tell me that my house would be flipped. Major detail they failed to tell me! Their prerogative I was told.
I pick my lot, pick my floor plan. Don’t be surprised if what is shown to you is NOT what you get. I’m missing trim on the posts. I asked and was told I’m not getting it. Why? When asking the foreman he said “you’re not getting it” no other explanation.
It took me six weeks to get mail in my mailbox. Celeste did not follow through with the post office to make sure the mailboxes were labeled properly. Six weeks!!! I’ve been calling myself the guinea pig of the subdivision.
So now let’s talk appliances. I signed my contract at the end of August. I picked out my appliances. Then I’m told months later I can’t get the refrigerator I picked. Then they install the refrigerator and the hole is too small. I’ve been here six weeks and can only partially open the freezer. I now have a loaner refrigerator and dryer and was told it would take 10-12 weeks to receive.
I’ve read many of the other reviews and see they were given 5 stars. Guess I wasn’t one of the lucky ones that got a nice home and great customer service. Wondering if it’s because I’m a single woman that they can just take advantage of. That’s how I feel. This isn’t my first rodeo. This is my third new construction home. Unfortunately I’m not from this area so I’m not aware of reputations.
The only person/company that I would give high ratings for was my experience with Tracy West and Essential Mortgage. They were outstanding.
All I can say is good luck if you go with Alvarez. I wouldn’t sign on the dotted line until EVERYTHING is complete. Huge lesson learned! If I could have given zero stars, I would have.
