Still dealing with him, Al… currently 3.5 months past due and 20k over budget.. just told him no on the last check he asked for and he’s now acting like a child. Pretty sure court is in my future. Very hard to get a hold of and his communication on even the smallest detail is horrible. Asked for a budget meeting two weeks ago but his papers are in one of his broken down trucks in a different state… lol 1 excuse after another.
He has 10k of ours after we had to return pavers and get a refund.. pretty sure he spent it bc he just told me he doesn’t want to get it from the paver company bc they did him a favor, instead wants to use another customers money that he’s getting this week to pay me…huh??? This has become a nightmare. -

We are in the same boat as everyone else who has posted a negative review. This man is one smooth talker that will quit responding to you once you start paying. Our yard has been a disaster since January. My research shows Paragon Pools, Wright Way Pools, Discount Pool Supply, and Splash Pool Services. I would like to facilitate communication with anyone who has experienced an interaction with him. I created an email "share.info jedge.com". Please reach out to share your experience. Anyone actually get their pool finished? If so, what steps did you take? Have you hired a lawyer? Have you managed to get any of your money back? After trying to reach him repeatedly, we are opting to try to get some of our money back most likely through the court system.

Pretty much same exact experience all other commenters have had. Unfortunately he was referred to me by a large pool business that didn't have the schedule availability for me so they put me in contact with Mr. Wright. Beginning was good, seems to know his stuff about the pool operation. However, once you get about half way (maybe less) into build, weeks and even months pass with no work being done. Originally responsive when called, now it goes weeks with no answer and a VM that isn't taking messages. Single handedly caused more stress and anxiety in our family than we can ever remember. Not knowing if anything will get done and causing family plans, business plans and holiday events to get cancelled. We have bent over backwards to be patient and work with Al but our pleads to him have fallen on deaf ears or been ignored completely. The extreme over promise, under deliver. We are just shy of 10 months since construction start and yet we are missing various items keeping electrical, plaster and inspections from completing. Breach of our executed contract.
With deep regret, we are now involved with 3rd party legal counsel. -

Never hire Alvoy Wright, took the money and almost nothing was done in 2 months, at first he was a very respectable person, and then he stopped answering the phone, a big liar.

Please do not use this man to build your pool. He’s currently using the company name Paragon Pool. He previously had a company called Wright Way Pools AND Splash Pools and numerous other names that he has used in the pst . I’ve paid this man $50k and I HAVE a disaster in my back yard. He hires subpar contractors that show up only one day a week. Mr. Wright makes excuses constantly and lies about every process. He will not answer the phone and has stopped responding to texts and emails. After threatening him with court action he did show up to do the electrical but I have no idea if it works. The pool he was to build for me was $50k and only 16x32. This man is a CON ARTIST. Please do not get involved with him. You will regret it!

The nicest man you will ever meet until he becomes a no show and leaves your pool incomplete. We started a pool in June, started off great, then about a month in we started loosing contractors, having delays, lots of rework etc. We have now reviewed our project with the city and several things where not done to code and have to be redone. It’s going to cost us an additional $30k to complete a pool we’ve already put $60k into that was only going to cost $65k. On top of that I have contractors showing up at more door looking for him because they haven’t been paid. Such a nightmare!

Mr Wright is a thief. Don’t be fooled by his friendly demeanor. This man took my money and left me with a concrete hole in my yard.

We signed a contract with Alvoy Wright, d/b/a Paragon Pools, in July 2022. It is now May 24, 2023, and we have yet to have our pool/spa completed. I am sick to my stomach reading these reviews because it is precisely what my husband and I have been experiencing. Mr. Wright was referred to us by a close friend/customer who had his pool built by Al Wright. Our friends' pool was completed sometime before 2019.
Mr. Wright began construction on our pool in early August 2022 and was rocking and rolling; he removed three big trees, dug the hole, installed the rebar, and got the plumbing roughed in by September 2022. In October 2022, he had the pool pumps, pool tiles, and travertine delivered. It has been crickets since then. He made excuses about the city not issuing the permit, but the city told us he had not submitted all the documents. We have not been able to have the electrical, complete plumbing, or plaster done due to his lack of commitment and communication. My husband has made several attempts to contact him, sometimes with no response and other times full of excuses. We were so patient due to the holidays and his mother falling ill. But we’ve had enough. It has been seven months with no activity, and our HOA has already attempted to fine us $3,200 for debris left by his crews in the common area, which we had paid Al an extra $1,200 to take away and never did. Now the HOA is threatening to issue other fines if the project is not completed within the next 60-90 days. This has caused an extreme amount of stress and anxiety.
My stomach is in knots, and I’m on the verge of tears. I, too, would like to know how many people have actually been able to finish their pool by Al, or did you have to go a different route? We are ready to cut ties and get another contractor to complete our project. I've created an email address, [email protected]. Please reach out to share your most recent updated story and share whether or not your project got completed. I hate to have to hire attorneys to deal with this matter because I honestly feel that at this point, we would be wasting more money. We’re located in the Hill Country area (southwest of Austin, TX).
