Amazing Air Heat

Amazing Air came out after hours to my residence as my HVAC was not working and misdiagnosed the problem as coils leaking then proceeded to tell me I also needed a 3000 dollar air purifier system for mold he stated he found, I asked how much to clean it and he said 2900.Said he would need to follow up with coil availability. I called him the next day and told him I called Caloosa Air, company that installed HVAC, and coils were under warranty, he then changed course and said he doesn't think it was coils now but a circuit breaker. Came back out to look at the breaker and said I will call warehouse to see if we have one but I have another job and will let you know if one is available. I had to call him back later that evening and he said oh sorry but won't have one until Monday which meant no air for the house throughout weekend. I called Amazing Air office and they said maybe they could loan a portable AC. Called Caloosa Cooling LLC they came out sending a text with tech. name/picture/time of arrival. and then sent another tech. to diagnose and were there till 8pm. Said it was not coils or circuit breaker but capacitor and main board. They couldn't get the parts until the next week but bypassed the board to get air running till they could come back. THATS PROFESSIONALISM!!! Amazing Air was not on time, not responsive, misdiagnosed problem, and tried to sell me thousands in upgrades. When I called the company to ask for my money back they said no it was a diagnostic fee or I would say a misdiagnostic fee and I said I would place this review they stated "better watch what you do, better watch slander, and bring it". And then she hung up. Better Business Bureau next : ) DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! Honestly accept that you did a poor job, reimburse the 179 dollars and that would be it.

Terrible company. Installed an AC unit in my home in October 2017. In February 2022 they had to add freon to the tune of $500 without checking why it was leaking. When I asked why this happened and if anything else needed to be done, they said it was fine.

In April 2022, they came to do the bi-annual check-up and told me I needed a whole-house air purifier to mitigate mold. They said the mold would damage the unit if I didn't do this. They wanted $2500 for the air purifier. When I questioned the price they said they would do it for $2000. I later learned that this was twice what I should have paid.

Two weeks later the blower went and it would be $800 for labor (it was less than 5 years old so well under warranty for parts I thought).

When I asked to speak to a manager about why all this was happening on a less than 5 year old unit he said - his words - that I had a "lemon". When I asked what they would do about it he said he would give me the phone number of Bryant (the brand of the AC unit). He also said the warranty was for 5 years even though the initial paperwork said 10 years. He said that was a mistake and it should not have said 10!!

He offered to install a new system. He said a new system would be $7100 but he would take off the $2000 that I paid for the air purifier. He said it was a great deal that I wouldn't get from any other company. Of course, at this point, I would not work with this company again under any circumstances. Too late I checked reviews and the BBB and saw the very bad reviews from others about Amazing Air.

The next day I contracted a company, that came highly recommended. They said Bryant was a good brand but the fact that I had to replace the freon was a huge red flag. The system should have been turned off immediately and the line checked for leaks as that is the only reason for having to replace freon. The leak must be repaired before the system is turned on again. The fact that they never took care of the problem and the system ran without the repair wrecked the unit.

I replaced the AC the next day with a company I trust for much less than the $7100 Amazing Air quoted. They replaced the concrete pad and thermostat. Everything was carefully explained to me about what they were doing.

Florida, unfortunately, is full of non-reputable companies. Buyer beware. Do your homework, check reviews, and speak to neighbors about their experiences and companies they've been happy with. I've learned a very costly lesson. Stay away from Amazing Air!!!!!
