American Dream Restoration

American Dream Restoration has turned out to be a complete NIGHTMARE. We signed a contract in March and here we are months later in July with zero work done on our home. We only needed a partial siding replacement and received approval from our insurance. American insisted on requesting a re-inspection from our insurance, claiming that our entire siding needed to be replaced so that it would match (we have white siding..not sure what wouldn't match..) and also claimed that the entire roof required replacing as well. After constant back and forth hassle, our insurance company denied the roof claim and threatened to drop us.

Finally, with just the siding claim approved, they scheduled the repair/replacement on July 5th. July 5th came and no one showed up. We called, texted and emailed with zero responses for 3 weeks. We had signed a contract so we were unable to search for other companies. It was incredibly frustrating.

After having opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the manager decided to grace us with a phone call. He apologized in his voicemail and stated that they would complete the repair first thing the very next morning at 'no cost.' I could barely believe that so I called him to confirm and he said it was true, they would repair free of charge. I said okay, see you tomorrow.

The next morning I received a text message asking for a copy of our contract. I texted back stating that it was a carbon copy contract, so they had to have the other copy on file. But of course, they had no record of it! He said he didn't have it because another person had done our inspection. Yet, our contract had his signature on it and he was our initial inspector.. When confronted with that, he had no response. At that time, the work timeframe shifted to 'Monday/Tuesday' and he said he'd let us know. So we waited.

Monday came and went, no show/no call. We called on Monday and were unable to reach the manager until the Tuesday. He said that he'd confused us with a different customer and that it's all been a big misunderstanding. They would be needing a deposit, the full amount from our insurance company and MAYBE they'd be able to get the work done at the end of the week. But of course, our siding would need to be special ordered and that may take a while (didn't seem to take a while when they supposedly had us scheduled way back on July 5th - but whatever). Also, we have white vinyl Dutch lap siding - the most common there is. How could that possibly be a 'special order'??

Needless to say, we are completely DONE with this company and the months of our time they've wasted, not to mention the added frustration of dealing with complete unprofessional behavior.

Save yourself the hassle, find another company. This company does not respect their customers and can't even keep track of them to remember who is who, much less return a phone call.
