I, Chris Zito, hired American Storm Contractors Inc., in good faith to repair damages to my house caused by Hurricane IDA. From the start, American Storm has failed to live up to the standard in which was promised from the beginning of agreement. I provided American storm insurance papers given to me by State Farm Insurance company listing all that State Farm would cover. However, some work performed by American Storm was not authorized by State Farm. American Storm knowing I am an elderly person, took advantage of me and performed unauthorized work. This included the bathroom remodel, that was not covered by State Farm. They intentionally confused me repeating that if was covered and that State Farm would cover the cost. Furthermore, American Storm did not perform as agreed by the following:
1. Did not hire a license electrician.
a. We had problems with the electrical and she argued with us. I got a license electrician to scope out the work. His findings where the wiring was incorrectly performed and deemed a potential fire hazard. All wiring was not properly installed.
b. American Storm ran wires causing other areas of the house to trip breaker and flicker lights.
2. Did not hire a license, Plumber.
3. Painting – As agreed, American Storm was to use flat paint on ceiling, eggshell on walls, and semi-gloss on doors, trim, and base boards. American Storm used all flat and not eggshell or semi-gloss.
4. Flooring – American Storm agreed to put vinyl flooring in master bedroom and guest bedroom but instead put laminate flooring.
5. Kitchen Cabinets – we asked American storm to fix the crown molding but argued she just wouldn’t do it.
6. Tile Flooring – upon repairing the bathroom, American Storm damaged the tile flooring leading to hallway. We were unable to find a match for the floor. We asked American Storm this needs to be addressed but she instead yells at us.
7. As agreed in contract, American Storm was responsible for the build of shed in back and do all siding around house and failed to do so. American Storm tried to take all money from insurance pay and leave me with no money for the siding and shed.
8. American Storm was MIA for over month with out call. I have tried to contact them, and they would not answer their phones.
9. American Storm’s crew has stolen a lot of my tools from my garage. They also forgot the key and broke in through a window from the garage to enter the house.
10. As agreed, American Storm was responsible to replace garage door. They fail to do so.
Inclusion, American Storm tried to scam me during the work performed. I want to be reimbursed for the damages created by American Storm. They should not be working if their intentions are do scam during the process. My health has worsened through this experience.
