  The problems with my HVAC started on 12/19/2021. I have a home warranty with HSA and called them because my heat wasn’t working. They assigned it to AMR Heating and Cooling. Bill Brewster the owner came to my house and replaced a fuse in the HVAC. The heat stopped again. Bill came back and replaced the same fuse. He said I needed a new thermostat even though he never looked at the thermostat. He said he would get approval from HSA for a new one. I never received the thermostat. I started smelling gas and called the gas company to come and check. I called HSA and Bill came back on 1/11/22. He said the heat exchanger was cracked and it was giving off carbon monoxide. My detector had been chirping. He told me since it wasn’t working to cut it off and he would get approval for a new HVAC system. When I didn’t hear back in a few days I called HSA. They said Bill had not ask for approval for a new HVAC system. After many calls back and forth he finally submitted the request and got approval on 1/19/22. HSA called me and explained they would cover all but $350 for the new equipment and install. My appointment was set for 1/25/22. I had been without heat 14 days by then. Bill said the equipment was not in. HSA reordered it. Feb 3rd was the arrival date. Bill said it would not be in til Feb 7th. I had an appointment but he was a no show. On Feb 11 he said he couldn’t get the equipment til Monday. On Feb 14th he finally brought the equipment and installed it. I had been without heat for 6 weeks. He never came in the house to measure the temperature coming out of the vents. Bill told me he replaced my 3 ton unit with a 3.5 ton unit even though he never made any measurements or calculations. He said he didn’t have the high voltage wiring with him and he would return to complete that. He asked for the $350 I owed him and said it was for the wiring. I paid him with a debit card and have attached his text and my receipt.
  In 3/1/22 I texted him to see when he was going to do the wiring. I got no response. 3/14/22 again no response. He made an appointment for 3/23/22. He texted it was raining and he couldn’t run the wiring. 3/29/22 appointment was a no show. I had been calling and talking to HSA all this time begging them to give the job to someone else but could get no response. 4/4/22 Bill told HSA he was out of town with his family. 4/11/22 I texted Bill. He said he was out of work 2 weeks because he had a massive heart attack. HSA finally changed the contractor but Carolina Heating would not come out. They called and told me that Bill would have to complete the work. HSA sent a work order to Modern Mechanical. They called and said Bill should have gotten a permit and they couldn’t touch it because he is responsible. I called the city and he DID NOT pull a permit and he DOES NOT have an electrical permit. HSA still wanted to send him back to my house to complete the wiring. I have an appointment for April 20th. I have talked to them everyday trying to convince them that no one else will work on it unless they scrap the install and let someone else start over with the proper permit and licenses. They are reviewing it. They won’t do anything until someone evaluates it but no other company will do that. Now it is leaking and there is no drain pipe installed. Ultimately I feel HSA should be held accountable too since they authorized someone without the proper license to install the HVAC system.
