By Brenda P.August 2, 2017Install a new roof$4,700Read more
I hired Angel’s Roofing out of Ft Worth, Texas, to install a new roof in May of 2017. He submitted an estimate and we agreed on $4,700.00. I paid him in 2 payments, May 16th $2,000 before the job and the balance of $2,700 May 17th the day the job was finished. “A 30 year warranty with 5 year guarantee on labor and materials." The roof leaked approximately 7 to 10 days after installation in 3 rooms.
I contacted and advised him of the leaks. I left voice mails. The owner finally responded saying he was out of town. He seemed surprised the roof was leaking and said he would take care of it. He said his reputation was important to him and I took him at his word.
He never came back. The roof continued to leak. I made several phone calls. The owner finally called and again said he was out of town. I advised him the roof will still leaking and he needed to take care of it. He left me a voice mail saying he came by and fixed it. I asked him by voice mail and text to tell me what was wrong, why was it still leaking and what did he do to fix it. Again, no response. In total, I probably left 20 or more combined voice mails and texts to the owner. He replied maybe 3 times. The last time was June 20th.
Fortunately for me, it continued to rain. I consider myself fortunate because had it not rained essentially every week, I would not have known about the leaks. There was water leaking into the light fixture in one room. Had it not rained and I had put up sheetrock for the ceiling, I could have had a fire. I was prepared to put sheetrock up and that would have been another $2,500 or more.I paid for a new roof and I got a roof that leaked as much as it did before he supposedly installed a new roof.
I have to presume the owner knew he installed an inferior product. I have requested that he meet with me several times (by voice mail and text because he no longer answers my calls) and I have yet to hear from him. He hasn't responded since June 20th. I have to believe he knew the roof would not hold up. But unfortunately for him, it continued to rain.
The owner said his reputation meant something to him yet, he never asked me to set up a time we could meet to show him the leaks. He never met with me and I made several requests by voice mail and texts. I have not seen the owner since I paid him May 17, 2017. Why will he not meet with me? Why will he not come and look at the leaks? I can only conclude he knew the roof he installed would not last, he already knew the problem, that is why he never set up a time to come out. He already knew the roof would not hold up. Unfortunately for him, it continued to rain and his work product did not last 7 days. And, he still will not respond to my voice mails and texts.

Angel and his wife made me (a single mom) believe that they would give me a good deal since my deductible was high. Long story short, I noticed white caulk everywhere which wasn’t silicone based, which led me to investigate further. I was able to lift up an entire section of shingles that weren’t adhered properly to find that they used cheap 15lb felt instead of the synthetic ice and shield type specified by my insurance and also by them in their personal quote to me. They also did not replace flashings or any of the metal listed out in detail in their quote to me either. When I refused to pay for the stuff they did not do or the wrong product that they used, Mrs. Garcia harassed me and yelled at me and threatened me over the phone. I paid them for the shingles but I will have to have someone else fix and replace the items they didn’t. They thought I would never know and that they would take $10,000 from me and not do a fraction of what they said they would do. They tried to deceive me and lie to me and got caught. Thank goodness before I paid in full. DO NOT USE ANGEL’S ROOFING!!!
