If you value the worth of your home, you will not employ this plumbing contractor to work within the walls of your house.
I contracted Angler Plumbing to clear a clogged drain and replace an 8 inch piece of pipe that had cracked from the drain of my Bathfitter tub to the down flow pipe. I can honestly state that at no time during the work did I agree for the Angler Plumbing repairmen to replace my Bathfitter drain with a cheap imitation or did te repairmen ask me if I wanted the drain replaced.
About two weeks later, as I was about to pour drain cleaner into the drain as requested by the Angler Plumbing repairmen to keep the downflow pipe from clogging, I noticed that my Bathfitter drain had been replaced with a cheap imitation and that the drain had been caulked. Wondering why the drain was caulked when it was not caulked by Bathfitter’s during the initial installation, I wiped it away. This is when I noticed the cracking around the drain. Since the tub was not cracked before Angler Plumbing’s heavy-handed repairmen worked on it, it had to be caused by them over tightening on the drain during the installation. (see picture) They then tried to hide the damage with the caulking.
I immediately contacted Angler Plumbing about the damage to my $7391 Bathfitter tub and this is what happened that day when the owner, Rob Grabowski arrived at my front door.
To say the least, he arrived at my front door with attitude. His demeanor was threatening and rude while practically yelling that there was no way his repairmen had caused any damage to my tub. At this point, he had not even seen the damage so I led him to the bathroom. When he saw the damage his repairman had caused around the drain they replaced, he flew into a rage while banging his fists on the side wall of my tub yelling what a cheap fiberglass tub Bathfitter's had installed. He went so far as to try and bully me by yelling directly in my face that I had gotten taken by Bathfitters when they sold me the tub. Twice he referred to the tub as a thin fiberglass overlay. Both times I corrected him by stating that it was not an overlay because I had the existing tub removed before the installation.
When I questioned him about whether he was blaming the tub for cracking and not the fact that his heavy-handed repairmen had caused the damage around the drain by over tightening the drain piece, he became thoroughly indignant, yelling that his people didn't do work that way.
At no time did he take any responsibility for the damage his repairman had caused. Instead, he chose to continually blame the tub for cracking. I ended the confrontation by leading him out of my bathroom to the front door. As he was leaving, I asked him if he was insured, he chose to continue to storm out of my house while stomping his feet on my hardwood floors, while telling me to go screw myself because he was not going to be held accountable for any damage.
I filed a Better Business Bureau of Delaware complaint, which he completely ignored. I filed a fraud complaint with the Delaware Department of Justice Attorney’s Office Fraud Division and he chose to declare that the way he acted in the above story was the way I acted.
So I say again, If you value the worth of your home, you will not employ this plumbing contractor to work within the walls of your house under any circumstances what so ever because if things go wrong he will not take any responsibility for his inferior work even though he is suppose to be a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor in the state of Delaware.
