APEX Project as a rehab/handyman company is a bad company to work with:
1. They do poor quality work. They removed a section of my wall without my approval and then wanted to charge me additional to fix it as out of scope. I have before and after pictures that I am willing to share.
2. They will threaten to charge you late fees if you don’t pay in full for work that is clearly incomplete.
3. They ask for 100% of monies for a job up front for additional work which is against the law in the state of PA.
4. They take at least twice as long as my other contractors to do the same work. A company that is willing to fight over a few hundred dollars at the sacrifice of thousands of dollars of potential future work while tying up a rental property that cannot be shown until they are complete is bad business.
5. On other projects that I was considering them for I observed that they exaggerate their quote by thousands of dollars and when they realize they are not getting the job, they drop the price by thousands of dollars (we are talking a small project whose total cost ended up being less than $2000 so this is a large multiple).
6. They will tell you that they are going to show up on site at 8:00 AM sharp and then regularly show up after 12:00 PM to start work.
7. When things are not going as planned it is very difficult to reach the company’s assigned project coordinator by direct phone call because most of the time no one answers the phone.
8. From the above they do not care about customer satisfaction at all.
