  By all accounts Mark and his teams do good work. However, he rarely completes the project 100% and he literally does not return calls once the project nears completion. I had him do a few projects and there punch list items that remain years later. Finally had other contractors take care of them. Really weird.

  I've had Mark and his crew do work for me several times and have always been more than happy. These other reviews look shady as they're signed by two different people and yet they're nearly identical word-for-word. It looks like maybe a competitor is slandering Appelgren Builders.

  Mark Appelgren is good at one thing, selling his skills as a carpenter. That would be fine and good if he were on the job to work. Throughout the process of looking for a contractor, my husband was leary of Mark because his estimates were so much lower than the others. Our regrets, besides hiring Appelgren Builders, is not firing Appelgren Builders. He treated me with disrespect as a woman and as the homeowner, and his portfolio of past prodjects/pictures really consisted of other builders work. Not looking forward to court costs, but some things are just the right thing to do.

  Mark Appelgren is great at one thing, selling his skills as a carpenter. This would be fine and good if he were actually on the job working. We found out later that His portfolio of work completed is mostly of work done by other builders. My husband was unsure of hiring him, but his estimate was the lowest we got. With a new child coming, we chose him. The stress we went through was often too much, I do not suggest using this company . Sara and Dan

  Mark is by far the worst contractor I have ever had work in my home and doesn't even deserve a star. If you want a builder who doesn't pull a permit, cuts corners, doesn't return your phone calls especially when there is a problem and lies about what needs to be done and the time frame in which it will be completed then Mark Appelgren is the builder for you. I couldn't help but be reminded of the movie "The Money Pitt". He's the cheapest in town and you get what you pay for...
