Long story short, it's been a year and ten months and our pool is still not completed. They have given us every excuse in the book; people don't want to work, weather delays, vacation, sub contractors behind, covid etc. They started work again about a month ago and stopped. Then we get a letter in the mail that they want us to pay additional 10k because of the economy. Here's the bad part, we've already paid 99% of the total cost of the pool. Final payment now is for final inspection and to close the permit. It is not our fault that they did not order the remaining equipment/materials before inflation hit. Is anyone having a similar issue? I just filed a complaint with DPBR and city of Pembroke Pines. Since we cannot trust if they will finish out pool, we offered to put the additional money into an escrow account with their attorney and they've refused. Appears as if they are desperate for money... But I will say one thing, they are certainly either on time or early to collect money. Below is a copy of all the civil lawsuits either closed or pending. The all have a similar story:
