Archaic Concrete Solutions

Shane was great to work with until the project was poured. Shane and his Crew left me with bad hills and valleys on an uneven pad. He blames the radiant heat install but the waves aren't even in line with the piping. As proven with before pictures and measurements. They left a terrible looking and inconsistent texture on a pad that Shane knew from the start was going to be the finished floor in this residence. It will require extensive labor to try and gain something consistent. They were sloppy on the hand trowels as there are mounds like volcanoes around every pipe and every drain cutout. Not to mention the additional unsightly texture their hand trowel left. They dumped leftover concrete on my cinderblock pile making a section of the pile a solid lump. I will have to hammer it apart to haul it off. They didn’t bring a proper hose gun or lumber for forms. They had to use my lumber for their forms and couldn’t figure out the hose gun that was already attached and working before they touched it. They didn’t properly keep the concrete wet which, I am told by Shane and others, was a major component in the bad looking and feeling finish. They left a tool and trash. They never returned to remove the forms, pick up their tool, or clean up. When confronted, Shane admitted the problems were avoidable offering many different possibilities as to how he messed it up and how he could avoid it in the future. Then, Shane tried to talk me out of seeing or feeling the problem. It was a surreal experience to look at something with someone and they tell you to try not to see it as a solution for it being there. I asked for a refund and what amount he would feel is fair since I didn't get what he sold me, Shane then became unreasonable. Shane blamed everyone from my plumber, to me, to the concrete supplier at Idaho Materials and their mix. Just the opposite of what he said initially. I feel Shane is dishonest. Saying whatever he could think of to avoid taking financial responsibility for his mistakes. I had multiple other professionals and amateurs look at the end product and never mentioned who did the job. If it was in fact not their fault, I don't want to be negative about him or his company. All who have seen this pad, in so many words, have said it is abnormal, with a shoddy finish, and I paid way too much for what I got.
