    roof repairs

I wish we had never hired him but my family is loyal to who they deal with to a fault. The owner, Ares, is rude and inconsistent. We have been dealing with him for over 6 years at this point. He will not show up for months or answer calls even if you ask him to come review a job he JUST finished because you are having leaks again. It takes about a year to get him to find the strength to come to you. Even if it’s to review he’s going to find a way to charge you again. We have had the same leaks for years at this point. He claims to fix them and then next rainstorm it leaks again in the same exact spot. Had an entire roof redone to an addition of the house with him and it leaked immediately but he says it’s other parts of the house. Despite all leak being in the same spot, somehow.
Not one time has he fixed any part of the roof that doesn’t leak shortly after regardless of it is a patch work OR an entirely new roof.
Today I had enough after the way he spoke to my mother and myself it became clear he lacks respect for women and to him women can’t have opinions or understand simple things. I tried asking him “what is the true issue and how to fix it?” AFTER he had already taken a tone with my mother and he just got all angry saying he can redo a roof part he did but to never call him again because he doesn’t think that’s the cause. The same roof area we have been asking him for a year to come see btw. Then when I asked him to calm down because we want to understand, he said he has a doctor’s appointment and can’t be bothered. Why even bother showing up if you can’t make the time to discuss how to fix the problem?! That’s not the solution & not how you treat your loyal customers. So much time wasted working with him. I had no problem with a discussion but you're not going to talk to me like I'm bothering you and be disrespectful. Just say you don't want to be bothered to fix things instead of treating people like crap in their own home. Everyone has personal things going on, not just you Ares. I suggest learning anger management and how to talk to customers.

    Verified Hire
    Water Damage Restoration project

Ares Contracting Corp did a fantastic job on repairs to our apartment from water damage due to flooding in an upstairs apartment. We live in an 100+ year old pre-war building with pre-war ceilings (cement vs. traditional drywall/sheet rock), and the Ares crew knew how to work well with our pre-war apartment (including crown molding in the living room, plaster ceilings, lots of plastering on the walls, etc.). Alex and Tony were great communicators (both to us and to our insurance) and very responsive over text or email, reliable, efficient, and on budget. Their team did the work in an efficient and detail-oriented manner, and Maria was very communicative during the process and also made sure to do some cleanups the end of each day (which we appreciated as we were living in the apartment during the repairs). Our living room and kitchen look like new again, and we're looking forward to being able to fully enjoy our space again. I would recommend Ares Contracting Corp to others looking for repairs or contracting work in their apartments!
