Argent Commercial Doors

I strongly do not recommend this business.

1. The first job we asked them to do was for 3 new BB hinge installation, 1 panic exit device and Simplex combination lock w/ key override on one door. This job was not done in a timely manner. After speaking to a different contractor, this job should have been completed in about 2 hours. Argent took over 4 hours to complete. The control core key for the keypad lock, which enables the removal of the core of the lock to make a key, was not given to us (If this key is not given to us, any contractor or any person who has this control core key is able to come in and unlock/remove/have control over this door). We, as the consumer, must have the control key to make a unique key that only we can open for this particular door.

2. The second job was for: 1 panic exit device and a Simplex combo lock with key override function installation. Just as the first job, the control core key for the keypad lock, which enables the removal of the core of the lock to make a key, was not given to us (If this key is not given to us, any contractor or any person who has this control core key is able to unlock/remove/have control over this door). We, as the consumer, must have the control key to make a unique key that can only open this particular door. This job was much simpler than the first job, and it still took hours.

3. After the completion of the first two jobs, we were not satisfied with the work. We asked the owner if he had ordered the door for job #3 and he said he had. Therefore, we told him that we would go forward with job #3. Then we asked if the door to door #4 was ordered in which the owner of Argent Doors (Cristian) replied no. We told Argent Door owner (Cristian) that we would like to cancel the job order for job #4. After the completion of job #3, Argent Doors had said that we could not cancel job #4 because the door had already been ordered. This was not true as the owner had said it wasn't when we asked after job #2 was completed.

4. The third job (After school main entrance door): Replacement of existing door to install a metal door and metal frame. Owner of Argent Doors (Cristian) comes at 1:30pm to start this job. One of our church members on site asked when the job would be completed in which the Argent Doors owner replied around 6:30pm. Job was not finished after 9pm so someone had to stay on the premises till then. The work was not completed/functioning properly when the Argent Doors owner left at around 10pm. The wall around the door frame was also left exposed and damaged. The attempted plaster and caulking around the door frame was done very sloppily. (There was no mention that the wall would be exposed or damaged before the job was agreed upon and approved.)

5. The very next morning, we contacted Argent Doors about the malfunction of the installed door and Argent Doors said they would come out the same day or the day after to fix the issue. The issue was not fixed for a total of 6 days. The door could not be accessed from the outside via simplex lock or key for that duration.

6. Upon making all payments to work completed prior (even though we were not satisfied with the work done), we asked again to cancel the fourth job in which they said again that they had already ordered the door and the job could not be canceled. We also asked for a booklet/manual, wrenches, and keys for each Simplex Lock that was installed (a total of 3 thus far), as we only received one manual, and missing wrenches. Although these were received, it wasn't until we asked for them that we received them. All the keys, wrenches and parts should've been given to us the day each job was completed.
