  Siding

  $20,000

  Hired to remove old siding and replace with new. Should have been completed in a week but literally took months and basically left unfinished and never contacted us again. He sends workers who can’t speak English and don’t know what they are doing. Absolutely never hire this contractor.

  Front porch, back deck

  Hired kai for front porch and back deck. Has been over a year and still not completed. Kai asked for money in advance stating his men would be back the next day to finish and since it was a weekend he needed the payment. Have had several contractors come out for estimate to finish the job so it will now be an additional $2600. Several things not done properly. The overhang is a different measurement on each side. No vent was installed in between the roof line and facing wall on the house. Porch columns not even and the top is not flushed with nails popping out crooked so need adjustment. Nails used for columns not galvanized causing rust spots. Nails used instead of screws for flooring.

  Fought with Kai to get him over to complete back deck. Had issue with insurance company for payout as he left no stairs on the deck for over a month and it was a safety concern. Nails used instead of screws for flooring. Did not raise flooring up to appropriate level causing floor to be uneven and slope where chimney is. Missing post skirts. Stair riser material does not all match and many nails popping thru the back side.

  Poor communication. Kai does not return phone calls. Does not come when he says he will. Workers are friendly and polite but do not speak English so communication on the work being done is not an option. Covers up mistakes and will do “extras” to placate

  Build a patio and retaining wall

  My experience with Kai has been extremely disappointing. Firstly, communication was almost nonexistent. They were unresponsive to my calls and texts, making it very difficult to get updates on the projects.
  Secondly, the quality of the work was subpar. Despite assurances of high-quality workmanship, the wall they built is now collapsing. Since the first rain storm after it was done, it has been caving in. This is a safety hazard. I have gotten multiple estimates to fix his work that are significant.
  Third, I have been just straight lied to. Kai has promised multiple times to come look at my wall, but a year later I am still waiting. He also built me a beautiful patio, and on the last day dropped a large stone, scratching several of the pavers. He promised to replace these since his worker made the mistake, but has not fixed that either.
  I would not recommend Kai to anyone looking for reliable and quality work. Save yourself the headache and hire a contractor who values communication and delivers on their promises.

  Roof replacement, new and replacement skylights, and new window

  $25,000

  Would give 0 zeros if allowed. Doesn’t show up. Doesn’t order material. “Crew” that Kai sends to do the work are inexperienced and require full time supervision and correction- which Kai is no where to be seen to assist. He did not pull proper permits, completed subpar work, and never finished the work. Avoid at all costs.
