We have worked with Jim Arleth for many years. Although the quality of his work is good, he told us he would not charge us anything for the sliding doors we purchased, and only charge us for labor for their installation. On the day we paid him for the doors based on a quote from Home Depot, he went to Home Depot and got a quote $3000 less than the one we just paid him for, and never passed these funds to us. I accidentally found this out because Jim did not give us the shipping documents for what he claimed he installed, and I called Home Depot to find out what he purchased for us. Mr
Arleth said he threw away the shipping documents. After calling the manufacturer, they also could not identify the product that was installed. After explaining to Jim what our verbal agreement was, he denied it. Another problem was after he bid for a construction job, he would tell us he forgot to consider something and ask us for more funds. Because we trusted him from past experience, we paid him the few hundred more. He should not have asked for more funds to do what was written in the contract and we should not have paid him more. Since I do not trust him, I will not work with him in the future.
