    Decks and Porches project

    This was a difficult project due to the sheer weight and size of timbers that had to be replaced plus the amount of hidden water damage that was not discovered until the start of the project. Also compounded by poor construction techniques used by the home builder in the '70s and finally the shifting clay under the porch.

    I was happy with Arrowhead's attention to code requirements and modern approach to the repairs. The final cost was shocking but this was mitigated by the confidence that the new beams and supports will last 50% longer and not come crashing down. Arrowhead was also willing to entertain my requests and implemented the ones that made sense to them and patiently explained why others were not going to work.

    A single incident marred this project: I thought we had been given a firm start week only to find out that this was not on the books because I had not put down a deposit. I feel this should have been communicated to me when I suggested my preferred date. However, since it was clear that every effort was being made to complete the project before my 'drop dead' date, I am not going to deduct any 'stars'.
