We paid Art Harding a flat fee to build out house over almost two years, 2016-2017. He did not finish the house. He did not provide paid invoices for funds he took as contracted. Liens were placed on the house by unpaid subcontractors that the homeowners had to pay. He was rarely on site resulting in many errors and much wasted material. He did not do many custom features that were budgeted for, he took money for, and that have to be retrofitted. He passed vendor late fees and material waste and damage on to us. He charged for many things not used on this property or ordered in error. He added a personal hourly fee on top of his flat fee. He approved work known not to be to code, and so much more. Work continues into 2019 correcting errors and completing the punch list he would not address. The house when finally finished will be 50% over budget and 80% over value. We are having to litigate to get an accounting of funds.
