    Before buying an Artisan Home Crafters home, be sure all work is completed prior to closing. I contracted with this LLC to purchase a spec home in March of 2016 with a target close month of May. Artisan moved the closing 5 times. Always with an excuse, never their fault. Several of the sub-contracted work, (e.g., hardwood floors, mill work, gutters, etc.,) were not completed prior to to the final July 2016 closing. An amendment was added to the contract to complete these items after close. For the next 4 months the amendment was renewed as no action was taken to complete the items listed. I consulted another builder who informed that Artisan could continue this into perpetuity since no consequences for not performing the work could be enforced. After hearing this, I let the contract lapse thinking it would be done at the one year walk-through. The one year walk-through took place two years later, but only after repeated calls. I will say their intern did return with many subcontractors, however, none have returned to complete the work promised despite calls and emails. At the price point of this home, I assumed I could trust this company to do what they said they would. My advise, before buying an Artisan Home Crafters' home, be sure all work is completed prior to closing.
