  Gary came out and charged me $120 for an estimate visit that would be applied to the work performed. First, he sent me an estimate for $0.00 on the job. When I asked him to clarify the cost, he did so unofficially and said that he wanted to do time and materials. Fine, no problem. The day before he was scheduled to arrive to do the work, I reached out to him regarding timing. He informed me that the work would have to be put off until the next week because he was running long on another job. All future communication serves to support the fact that he never intended to do any work in the first place. Friday night, he sends me an invoice for $400. I asked him what it was for and he didn’t respond until Sunday, after which he said it was a deposit for the work to be performed but that, since I didn’t pay it on Friday, he was not going to perform the work at all and left me completely in the lurch. Note that he did NOT send me an invoice the day before he was scheduled to come out, but then chose to send one out after telling me he had to reschedule. All that would have been required was for him to answer my question about the invoice, which he did not do and responded two days later with a “tough luck” message via text. This man stole $120 from me and it’s clear that he never intended to perform the work discussed. Avoid Gary Arzate at all costs. He is a con man.

  electric for hot tub

  Gary reviewed the project and submitted a bid. He rescheduled once, showed up late without a mask the next scheduled day. He sat in our garage for about an hour and decided not do the project. Now he is arguing about returning the initial deposit. I don't know if he was overwhelmed and couldn't do the work or having a mental breakdown. Extremely unprofessional and a huge waste of time. He was recommended by Oregon Hot Tub, we have alerted them so they don't use his name anymore.
