Had an Aspen sales guy come to give a quote on a replacement front door and window. The sales pitch was more about their good ratings on Angie's list and others. Little about the products they install. The sales person had very little knowledge about construction overall. In addition to Aspen, I had four contractors come in and give me quotes. Aspen was more than double the next highest quote. The endless discount offerings just keep coming but they are still the most expensive. Unfortunately I am not home and had to get one contractor to "do it all". I do not have the time to run around finding another contractor to do trim, paint etc. so I accepted the Aspen quote because they claimed they will do it all. The contract you are handed however is very basic leaving them room to deny any work the don't want to do. All other contractors will provide detailed contract with scope of work. So here is what happened. First, they did not honor the timeline they set. When they rescheduled, two guys showed up on day 1. The way they operated indicated they do not work together often. Big problem! The workmanship is questionable at best. Messy, taking short cuts, don't care about your house. When they left, they left clothing and empty coffee cups on the stairs leading up-stairs, screws, wood chips and saw dust all over. I looked at work done by a Home Depot contractor and believe me, I am jealous. My house is open to anyone wanting to see how Aspen works. My recommendation: go to Lowes, Home Depot or get a local contractor. Save money and aggravation for the same products and better quality work. I thought I paid more and will get great service and workmanship. Not so. When Aspen calls, hang up, run, hide. They XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and should be banned from doing any work on homes.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Aspen Home Improvements has worked on 36 permitted projects.
On September 1, three weeks ago, the remains of Hurricane Ida hit our area. Our basement flooded and water began seeping through the walls on the first floor. The water restoration company came out to help two days later. They went into the attic and found gaping holes around the chimney and said that the chimney had not been correctly sealed or flashed. We immediately contacted Aspen, who had put a new roof on our house just this March, which is still under warrantee. We called every day for nearly two weeks, spoke to the secretary who was lovely and said she would have someone from management contact us. We never received a single phone call from the company. We hired a private roofing inspector to come assess the damage. He confirmed that the roof around the chimney had not been properly sealed by Aspen and noticed several other defects that he determined were NOT caused by the storm but by Aspen's faulty work. Today we woke up to more water in the walls. Aspen has not responded.
We are not litigious people, and we understand they likely had lots of work following a big storm. ALL we wanted was for them to come fix the roof. If we hire a different company, our warrantee will be voided. The house has now suffered additional damage because they refuse to simply contact us, take responsibility, and repair the roof. At this point we will likely have to hire a lawyer on top of all the stress of working with insurance and contractors to try and repair our home.
