I hired Austin to build a large bookcase in my apartment. He kept in close contact with me until the deposit was paid. And then I heard nothing further from him, for more than a month. The deadline for installing the bookcase came and went, and still no contact from Austin. I called and emailed repeatedly. No response. I finally sent a letter threatening legal action, immediately after which he called to say he hadn't even BEGUN working on the bookcase. He said he was just too "busy." This was after accepting my down payment and hanging onto it for weeks. I posted a review on Yelp and was later contacted by another unhappy customer who said her experience was much, much worse than mine.

Brian K., above, has been smearing Atrium Interiors Inc., on numerous internet web sites. I work with Atrium. The real story: Atrium took on this small project during a busy period, and the project was, in fact, delayed. Austin Tobin apologized to Brian and returned his deposit, in full. Austin has been in business for over 30 years and can supply a long list of excellent references to prospective clients. The anonymous client who allegedly contacted Brian to complain about Atrium is free to post herself - clearly, she had decided not to do so.
Prospective clients should note that it is the rare contractor who remains in business , and licensed, for 30 years plus, if s/he is not ethical and competent. They might also search the DOB for complaints filed by clients against Atrium or Austin Tobin - there are none.
