Look for another builder. Period. They are completely unprofessional and incompetent home builders. No quality control AT ALL. When the house was done there was a ginormous crack running thru the driveway because it sat without landscaping, and during a heavy rain the water off the roof eroded the ground under it. I know this because we did drive by as the building was happening and saw a massive hole under the driveway. Avant said this was normal with a new build. After telling him we are not moving in with that crack, he had someone do a slab repair. Worst driveway job ever (in my experiences). Not enough stress breaks, and holds water near house. Cracked tile throughout house - improper setup to lay tile to prevent cracking. They came and replaced a few, but they cracked in that same place again, and several other places thru out the house. Bowed ceramic tiles used in living room. You can actually see the arch of them when the suns out. Brick steps leading to house had improperly mix mortar, and now there are holes where it’s literally falling out of the brick. They forgot we ordered stone around front pillars and bricked them. I mentioned it and was told they brick them first. We later drove by and saw them digging thru scrap pieces (they threw them in the vacant lot next door along with other trash). So, they put those pieces backwards and any which way to make them work instead of getting more pieces to do it right. They buy flawed granite and have their guy try and fill up holes… OR their granite guy does the damage - not sure which, but either is plausible. Now any cloth catches on the granite paste jobs. When questioning the crappy coverup I was told by the salesman that this is normal with granite (I’ve seen a lot of granite but none with big holes filled with glue and scratched over). Also, the seams of the granite are messy with glue and is now coming off in pieces. They installed broken tiles on the walls of my shower. The pouring of the concrete in the back patio was a hot mess. It looked like someone dumped concrete and blew it around with a fan. The cement was all on the brick work of surrounding walls. When I said “heck no” - they had someone come and blast it off the walls. You can tell because they also took off much of the concrete and pieces of brick we’re missing. They also used this method on front brick steps to clean up messy mortar I complained about. The same method I believe scratched up the windows because of all the flying debris (I’m guessing here, but every window around these areas are scratched up). Speaking of windows - it looks like a monkey did them. Glue everywhere. Thick clunky sealing job. The same person that mixed mortar for steps mixed it for window work because they are crumbly as well. Also, they painted the walls inside dining room without covering the windows up, so there is paint splatter all over the frame around glass. I complained and he came and took off some of it - but still plenty to look at. He was ok with that. The dining room window is leaking into the wall somehow when it rains. All the window work is like nothing you’ve seen. Super sloppy messy work. The plumbing installation under cabinets - SO unprofessionally unfinished. Again, a monkey install. I had to have them come out and fix them to look some kind of finished. Still look like crap. Ceiling was cracking, their warranty guy came himself to repair…. It was a crappy job and still cracked. The bar wrap had a crack also - they just painted over it… it’s still cracked. Their AC installer (2nd bad experience with them - same problem) installs the wrong size return for size of system. This makes the AC work harder and louder. I had to get the County involved to help. They added an inch or so, but it’s still WAY off because at the same time they added a bigger system! Now I need an even bigger return. Same company refuses to service this unit now - I guess I was supposed to take it. Oh, same company put a bathroom fan baffle on our roof to vent our dryer. That’s a code violation. They came out and fixed that at County direction. Hurricane Ida made us dig out our storm covers. We’re missing 2 storm door covers. So much more - not enough room here. This is a custom home builder that doesn’t care about you, their subcontractors work, attention to detail, customer service, or just doing the right thing. We should have walked away - you definitely should if your looking into them. When you spend this kind of money - you expect professionalism and quality craftsmanship. They just want your money, when they have it - it’s all over for you.
