I did my final walk through and advised the hood installation would be completed before closing. 53 days later and the exhaust hood is not installed. Avex sent GE out to my home several times and the outcome remain the same. Avex now state a larger hood is on order but did not provide a delivery or installation date. The Casselberry Community is thriving with quality builders, Avex is not one of them.

My experience with Avex Homes, LLC continues to be horrible. I bought a new home from Avex, Nov 2017. Its exhausting to deal with the "warranty department" and the "customer experience" representative. At first, the warranty department phone would just go to voice mail. The nightmare didn't end. After numerous calls and emails to get them to schedule the vendors (floor vendor, door vendor, cabinet vendor, etc.), they will first send you a warranty rep to "look at the problem" to see if this guy can fix it. Then, they will continue to waste your time by coming into your house multiple times to "look at the problem", and to let you know they will fix it the way that works for them, not the way it should be.
The warranty department wouldn't schedule the vendors correctly. The "warranty supervisor" would come into your house multiple times to look at the same problem without properly evaluating or planning for the right solution. You will need to be home to supervise when they go into your house, otherwise there is a high possibility that they will damage other things while trying to look at the problem or trying to fix the problem.
The warranty supervisor came into my house to look at the floor in a bathroom and used a water pipe sticking out of the wall to support himself while he was getting up from a kneeling position (careless or intentionally wrong?). The first time I trusted the warranty supervisor and left him alone to fix a sticking door, he hit the door frame and jamb several times with 2 pieces of wood and damaged the door frame and jamb. The fact is, the door is warped in the middle. He told me he has many years of experience and yet he couldn't or didn't want to determine that the door was warped.
The "warranty department" and "customer experience" rep refused to get the tile vendor to install tile, before reinstalling a cabinet they had to remove because it was slanted. They refused while being aware that a gap was going to be left between the cabinet and the existing tile floor.
They left a 1 3/4 inch gap which cannot be fixed with a regular cabinet trim. After reinstalling the cabinets, they wanted to come in to tear my floors apart, take tile out and reinstall tile... The warranty supervisor suggested installing a piece of wood behind the toe kick, leaving less space for toe kicking. He said if this didn't work he will cut tile into small pieces to fill in the 1 3/4 inch gap.
I'm starting to believe that doing damage to your house and refusing to fix the problem correctly is a Tactic they use to discourage you from calling them to fix things. Either way you lose, either you call the warranty department and let them waste your time and damage your house or you buy the materials and pay someone to fix the problem.
Also, they take your right as an owner to say NO, you will not do this or that to my house. You are not allowed to say NO. You have to comply with the way they want to fix the problems even if it is wrong.
These people will apologize time after time without ever doing the right thing. They run their business by being sorry time after time and doing you wrong. -

I bought a new home from Avex Homes November 2017. When the agent showed the house there were unfinished things I noticed and inquired about. On my initial walk through the items were still not completed. On these 2 occasions I was told Avex Homes will give me a clean & presentable house inside and out on the day of closing. On the day of closing I did my Final Walk through - the house was dirty with bugs in the window cills, light bulbs were out, recess lights in bathroom had two different types of light bulbs, no batteries on the AC control, cement pieces on the Lanai & Garage floors, wood sticking out of yard, grass not mowed, grass missing in several places, 1 bush almost dead, garbage disposal not working, house door leading to garage was keyed with another key and I don't have the key to it , cabinet in guest bathroom is grossly slanted, garage door was not aligned correctly, stove outlet was loose, floors dirty with pieces of grout, no caulking in kitchen sink or bathroom sink, the water shut off valve container was full of mud, garage door was dirty with white substance & after I cleaned it, some paint came off, etc, etc. While I know and realize that with a new home you will find few things that need to be adjusted, I feel that the Quality Inspector dropped the ball on this one. Hopefully, this is not the way Avex is handling all homes that it sells. I am giving a 1 star because when I asked the Project Inspector why he didn't complete the items on the list I gave him (same items were on his Quality Inspection Report) he answered that in his opinion, he gave me a house in pretty good shape"... If I could I had given 0 stars to this review, a horrible company to work with. I made my final walk through and they said that they were going to remove a buried water valve that was in the middle of my back yard but two years after we closed and they said that they won't do it, they just want you to close pay so they can walk away. worst experience ever. I would highly advise everybody to do not to buy a house from them.
