Alirio and his crew undertook a massive remodel of a 1906 apartment in San Francisco. The unit was gutted to the studs, the space reconfigured, and then rebuilt to current code. He had a structural engineer on board from the outset to create a plan set and provide framing details so the building's structure was reinforced properly and strengthened. When he used subcontractors, they were properly licensed and experienced. The electrical in particular was very complicated, going from knob and tube to code compliant AFCI/GFCI circuits. He was always very conscientious of making the building safe not only to be code compliant in every possible way, but just on principle. His crew, particularly his painter and carpenters, Paco and Giovanni, deserve so much praise for their pride in their workmanship and their insistence on doing everything to the best of their ability. Some of the work was very demanding and it was really a push, but every time the bar got raised, they jumped it. Alirio is approachable and collaborative and will work with you to accomplish your goal. You may have to wait for a call back or call him again once in awhile, but he is unfailingly polite; he is just running a lot of jobs simultaneously. If you are aware of that, and aware that sometimes there's a bit of a language gap, and you make the effort to communicate often and clearly, you will be so pleased with the outcome of your project.
