My experience with of Aztec Roofing was not great. The owner is Ruben Hernandez. I used them for a reroof out of a recommendation on Nextdoor. Long story short, the work was sub par and I had to let him go. I did ask him to fix the issues found but he said "I will fix what the inspector tells me to fix.". The inspector found what I found and a lot more. This was a big red flag as he was hoping for an inspector that will simply write off the work. Ruben also offered me a warranty he was not allowed to provide since he is not signed up with the manufacturer of the roofing shingles. I called up the manufacturer and specifically asked if Aztec Roofing was allowed to offer that warranty.
Ruben has not paid back my deposit even after accounting for the work he's done. To support a small company, I paid 60% up front which I later found violates CLSB rules of 1000.00. He has owed a significant part of the deposit for 1.5 years and won't pay back.
