DO NOT USE. THIS MAN IS A SCAMMER AND HAS STOLEN MONEY.
We had Bruce come in and give us an estimate on a bathroom job. He asked for half up front to pay for supplies. An internal alarm went off right away but since he appeared to be an independent contractor we agreed and paid our first check when he sent us a contract. After he neglected to send a receipt for our first check another alarm bell went off.
After putting us off for a couple of weeks - setting up appointments and then cancelling or being a no show (once claiming he had COVID, which I'm now doubting the validity of).
This past week he sent an array of bizarre text messages with excuses for not coming in. He then stopped answering our calls and texts completely. We asked that he return our money, and we have received no answer in several days.
A lesson learned. Do not pay anything up front to contractors. Have everything signed and have proof of purchases. Go with a bigger company and if you go with an independent outfit double check their references. Bruce Cox is obviously preying on folks and I am wiser for having been scammed.
