Be warned - the owner does not have control over his own company and is not to be trusted. His office is run by his daughter and partner, who the owner admits have been the source of many customer issues. I had obtained quotes from several roofers to get my tile and flat roofs replaced. B Griffith quoted $13,500 for tile and $6,200 for a tapered system. Additionally, they quoted my solar installer $2000 to install supports. The owner, Brent Griffith, told me on many occasions that he would inform me of and request permission for additional charges before performing work. Work started on 5/23 in which they removed tile, put down new underlayment for both roofs, and installed the tapered roof. No one mentioned any additional work. In the process of re-roofing on 5/23, one of their workers put a hole in my guest room ceiling (I could see through to the sky). Brent said he would cover the repair, so I hired a drywall contractor. They also damaged the gutters on the front of my home when removing tile. There were multiple witnesses to the above, including my solar installer who stopped by to see that the supports would be installed properly, and a water mitigation company. We saw that the decking and rafter wood under the flat roof was original. Weeks went by with no mention of additional woodwork. I discussed payment with Brent and he said I could pay with a credit card and would split the CC fee. His office manager/partner (not wife, but they live together), left me a nasty voicemail accusing me of demanding to split the fee and attacking my character after they "had gone out of their way for me already". This was a red flag, but I told her I'd write a check if it was an issue. Tile arrived weeks later and work was completed on 6/27. On 6/28, I wrote them a check for the contract price in full of $19,700. They cashed it and THEN sent me an email telling me there would be another invoice for woodwork. This was a surprise since the owner had told me his crew said nothing to him about woodwork. I replied telling them what the owner had said, and that I would not be paying for anything I wasn't made aware of and that I didn't approve. At this point, they started responding with more nasty emails. Before even sending a quote for claimed woodwork, the office sent me an email threatening to place a lien on my home and hold warranties & insurance docs hostage. I called the owner immediately, and he reiterated that his crew had not mentioned woodwork to him, and that he would accept the $19,700 as paid in full. He also committed to repairing the hole in the ceiling and to repairing the gutters. The office responded countering what the owner said, with quote, "My dad said to let you know that I am handling this in the office and that you do not need to call him as he is out of it." I thought - Is this a good cop/bad cop scam? I got my attorney involved. B Griffith's office sent me an invoice for $825 for 120' of woodwork on the tile roof and 30' of woodwork on the flat roof. I got up into my attic and did not see 120' of new wood under the tile. With the ceiling cut out of the flat roof, I could only see original wood. This was gouging and dishonesty. They sent my solar installer a surprise invoice for an ADDITIONAL $3800 for installing the supports. That's $5800 for a $2000 original invoice. This amount was included in the Notice to Owner they sent - the basis for their lien. They claimed they were there for an additional 24 hours to do that work, but they were not at my home for more than 4 days to do the entire job. The solar installer paid the $5800 invoice to try to stop them from placing a lien. Nasty emails cont'd - backed out of providing promised insurance documents, accused me of not understanding English, refused to pay the drywall contractor (claiming his invoice was not good enough, leaving me with a half repaired ceiling as he did not return to finish when he realized he was not getting paid), and refused to fix my gutters, accused me of trying to scam their company, and sending statements like "please stop wasting our time with your useless opinions as they do not matter (I too have my personal opinions about you but I will not lower myself to your level - lol)". I requested the documents they were obligated to provide in exchange for the woodwork payment. They refused to send the documents to my lawyer even when he had my certified check in hand to pay them. They kept accusing me of trying to scam them when my lawyer and I were trying to pay them. Eventually, my lawyer had to send them a certified check before getting a release of lien - a risky proposition given their deceptive behavior. I had to order an inspection because they would not provide a roofing certificate. My ceiling and gutters are still damaged. I have filed a complaint with the contracting board. Do not hire this company. They will gouge you, weasel out of damaging your property, and attack your character while doing it.

Home owner's worst nightmare...they provide me competitive estimates, but when they discovered additional work, going over 40% their original estimate, they did not bother giving me a courtesy call to give me a heads up or option...they just went ahead and did the work and slapped me with the bill.
When I triend renegotiating the bill with the owner, Brent, the office manager, who is by the way the wife of the owner, has anger management issues. She threatened to put a lien on my house and left a nasty message for trying to renegotiate with her husband and not her...claiming that I "disrespected" her for trying to negotiate with her husband. What a joke!
Bottom line...really unprofessional and I can't believe they have A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau!

A nightmare like the rest. This company is unprofessional. They are bullies. They did quoted a job then did not do it to their contract, also slapped us with a big bill for work that was not done, over charged on work that was done. Going to court. Stay away. I truly think the good reviews may be fakes.
