B&L Tile (Joseph Wood) is a terrible company to work with. We brought Joe to price out a tub surround in tile. He was very nice and accommodating at first taking the time to answer questions. Later we selected him and we agreed what day he would come to start the project. Joe arrived two days after the agreed start day. One day into the project he pulled the slimy contractor maneuver of saying he underbid the project and would need at least 400 dollars more. We told him that this was not possible and he saw all the materials and space prior to starting the project, any objections should have been stated before he started, not halfway into the project. The next issue occurred when he mislaid 2x3 ft of tile incorrectly and had to rip it up losing all of the materials in that section. The day before grouting we inspected the tile and tiles were crooked, grout lines fluctuated in size from 0 to 1/4 in., there is a broken tile, 9 tiles are touching the tile below them, the tile lines between the three walls of the tub surround do not match up, the top row of tiles has 6 tiles that are full size while the other 30+/- are all smaller(cut tiles). We point out the mistakes to the tiler and he mysteriously has another job and cannot come out. Joe said the job was straightforward and would take 3-4 days, day 7 not finished, he will retort that he was not made aware that the tile was 2x4 mosaic sheet tile, however he saw all the materials the first day, and we talked on the phone and told him twice (also asking questions) all about the tiles. Joe is a nice guy that is incompetent and has poor customer service, if you use his services record every conversation, details, and progression of the project.
