B.W. Bale & Associates

My wife and I hired B.W. Bale & Associates to reconstruct our Harbor Island condo. The bid was by no means the cheapest bid, but like stated in an earlier review, was very detailed and included features the other bids did not address. . The craftmanship, quality and attention to detail and high standards of the material used left no doubt in our mind that Bryan shared our vision for what we wanted in our condo upgrades.

Like the review from June 9, 2019, we felt that Bryan was being over aggressive on his mold remediation approach. That is until we saw the sheet rock that was being removed and how growth had penetrated all of it. The other bids included removing only 2 to 3 feet of sheetrock and some didn't even address insulation replacement. After seeing this, we were grateful that we gotten rid of the growth that would have been left inside our walls. This will be our retirement home and to have left what was removed, would have definitely affected our air quality at a vulnerable age.

It has now been just over a year since the renovation has been completed. The normal wear-and-tear expected in a condo that is rented has been at a much slower rate than other projects that we have overseen. In addition, BW Bale & Associates still provides quarterly PM service on the HVAC that his crews installed. Also Bryan, came by to take care of at a small issue we were having. He inspected our shower door and found an issue that my wife and I were unaware of and had the manufacturer of the door come adjust it at no charge.

My wife had to convince me that BW Bale & Associates was the bid to go with, as I usually choose the middle priced bid. But, she pointed out to me the details in BW Bale's bid that other companies did not address. I was amazed how often that Bryan would see and address items that I had not seen until he pointed them out to me. His eye to detail is what truly sets him apart from other renovation companies in the Low Country.

I definitely would not recommend B. W. Bale & Associates to anyone. Mr. Bale was introduced to me by a friend in January of 2018. My home was diagnosed with mold secondary to a leaky roof. I had mold remediation done along with testing. There were multiple areas of the house that needed to gutted at the end of the project after hiring Mr. Bale my entire house was gutted. Do I believe more was done then needed to yes I do. Mr. Bale would present with a bill for electric, plumbing and HVAC. I would provide him with a check and the next day he requested money fo Kitchen cabinets, and counter tops for $40,000.00 because I was told by Mr. Bale “ it takes 3 months to get the cabinets because they are made for your kitchen. Actually Mr. Bale ordered by cabinets on August 16, 2018 and delivery was expected on September 3.,2018. The cabinets aren’t made they are there and all that needs to be done is them ordered to complete your design. I began to see there was a problem when I got home after vacation and nothing was done and no one showed up for another 5 days. When I questioned Mr. Bale about this I was told the electricians had an emergency which I came to find out was not true. I was told by the electrician they were called off my project to go to another one. When I confronted Mr. Bale he denied it. Mr. Bale purchases everything for your home in his name so you are not privileged to a copy of the invoices he Makes decisions without discussing them with the home owner. Mr. Bale preys on older single females who he thinks have deep pockets. There is so much more I could write for hours. Mr. Bale walked off my job the end of August 2018 owing me $100,000.00 and on top of all of this he went as far as to forge my signature. So please do your homework with all contractors
