We purchased a Lennar home and they use Clanton Heating for their HVAC.
These guys are a production company. Once the job is done, it's clear that they don't care about keeping you as a customer. I'm in the HVAC industry and I purchased a home that Clanton installed the HVAC system in. I mentioned to the home builders that the system was not going to work before we even moved in and I gave the reasons why. The builder talked to Clanton and I was assured that the system would work perfectly (I knew better). I assumed that the home builder and Clanton make things right when the system didn't work correctly.
I purchased the home in August of '20 and here we are, almost at the end of my year warranty and my HVAC system still doesn't work. I started the warranty process in August as well. I can't make any adjustment due to the fact that it will void the warranty on the system - I shouldn't need to make adjustments in the first place. The owner of Clanton clearly has no knowledge of the industry, of how furnaces and air conditioners or how to condition a home properly, he made that painfully clear when I spoke to him about what needed to be done in order for the system to operate as it was designed. The system was designed by a third party contractor. I spoke to him and he actually puts a disclaimer on his design because he knows the quality or work of the home builder and HVAC contractor. The home builder (Lennar) is at fault just as much as the Clanton contractor. Both of these companies are terrible to work with as far as warranties go. Poor workmanship and even worse communication by all parties. I had to call, text and email multiple times for each issue just to get updates. They have even attempted to pay me thousands of dollar so I would go away, which I was going to take, but they have since rescinded the offer. It makes me sick that Clanton represents an industry that I so passionately care about.
