    Build 4 sets of built in bunk beds
    $18,567

    I hired Nick and his company to build us a bunk room & paid him $10,700 on September 23rd over half of what the project costs so they could get started. He told me the benefit of hiring him (a general contractor) is I don't have to deal with subcontractors, we could reach him anytime & that he takes care of everything. That has been the furthest from the truth and has not been our experience at all.

    We had agreed on a deadline of Oct 23rd & Oct 6th he said he would send me over the final design for the project and I never received the final design or any other communication from him. I called, text & emailed all with no response for over 2 weeks until my last message telling him we're calling off the project because we hadn't heard from him at all, no work had been done & we were 5 days away from our deadline. He responded on Oct 19TH saying he had been out of town. When I asked for our money back since nothing had been done, I was told he had given the whole amount to his subcontractor & they had started the work & paid for the lumber. We went back & forth with him for a few days trying to get the cost of the lumber until I called his subcontractor he hired & found out NO WORK had been done & the sub was NEVER given any money to start it.

    Not only has his lack of communication been unprofessional but his dishonesty is inexcusable. We are now passed our deadline & its been 11 weeks, we have no bunk room & he still has not given back any of our $10,700. We had filed a complaint with the ROC & were told their hands were tied as they cannot get make him give our money back unless he’s given another chance to build the beds. Since then he has not responded to texts, emails, or a certifued letter as we’ve attempted to settle this with him. We are now having to hire an attorney since they have refused to communicate with us. We have worked with several different contractors through the years & have never encountered anything like this. If you are looking for a general contractor I would NOT recommend Bacon Family Contracting. They seemed nice upon our intial meeting but has shown nothing of the sort since then. They’ve had horrible communication, shown dishonesty through this process & has shown a complete lack of professionalism. I only wish I had read their other reviews before hiring him.
