To be honest, I think one star is too generous. We picked Scott because he was recommended by a builder that was doing a job for a friend of ours. He was very personable in our first meeting and we immediately felt comfortable signing Scott as our architect for a remodel on our house.
What we got was an architect with little imagination whose primary priority was to up-sell us to more square footage and expensive features that we told him we didn't want. I finally had to send him a drawing of what we were looking for.
Suffice it to say, we changed architects as soon as we could. Unfortunately, not before the last invoice included over $100 in "delivery" charges for the schematic printouts. Apparently Scott was too busy to pick up the schematics from the printers himself. I guess that's not a priority when you can pass that charge along to your clients, including his 15% markup.
All in all, it was a terrible experience working with Scott.
