Barney Grueser Builders

Barney Grueser purchased and took down our circa 1860's log barn. He was professional and true to his word. His crew worked quickly and efficiently. We are glad that materials will be reused in new projects. Would absolutely recommend him.

Each one was finished in a timely manner and with top workmanship. He and his crew are easy to work with, keep a clean work space, making a remodel easy on the homeowner. Barney Grueser and his crew reconstructed a 2 1/2 story circa 1860 log cabin for us in 2008. Barney and his team are the best contractors I've ever worked with. They did all the chinking on the cabin and added a 2 story framed addition using period correct cut nails. I also purchased a hand hewn timber frame and a single crib log barn from Barney. I would highly recommend them for any historical building or new construction projects.

Barney built our house in 1999. He did a great job. We have not had any structural issues at all. We rehired him to build a garage in 2003. Once again he did a great job. He is responsive to customer's needs and does quality work. He meets deadlines on time. We wish we had another building project to hire him again!

Good builder, quality construction. Honest and trustworthy. He built our home right and on time. We were building our home while we still lived 2 hours away. I was only able to get here to see it at best once a week. I did not have to worry, Barney kept me informed and made good decisions in my absence. B. Grueser Builder built my house 20 years ago. It still looks like new. When we came to Athens and were looking for a builder, B. Grueser Builder was on everyone's short list as someone that did quality work. Every step of the way he guided us as we made decisions. If Barney's crew doesn't do the work, he hires subcontractors that are just as professional. Friends have come to my house as guests from out of town and commented on the quality.
