    $30,000

    Mr. Brian did not give a quote to me directly. Barnwood Group gave a quote to the Buyer of my home while I lived in it and before selling it. This quote on Barnwood letterhead was given to me by the Mr. Buyer who is an attorney and who was bullying to sue me and putting pressure on me to agree to a lower price on my home.

    I am a homeowner and had a city inspection of my home. I was in the process of selling my home in St. Louis park. The St. Louis Park city inspector had put the escrow amount to $15,000 and the inspector told me the work may not cost more than $5000 but the city puts a higher amount.

    Brian's lawyer friend Mr. Buyer used Mr. Brian's estimate on Barnwood letterhead to put pressure on me to drop the price by $30,000. This amount was what Mr. Buyer was looking to get reduced from the beginning.

    Brian using his expertise and reputation as a builder conveniently quotes the job at $35,000 (a convenient co-incidence - maybe, may be not - but it made me wonder). This to help his friend or potential client in my opinion.

    I had got quotes from licensed contractors and even the most expensive ones come at $15,000 - the inspectors of SLP are apparently very good at what they do.

    I quote Mr. Hogan - in his letter to the buyer which was then given to me - "I'm certain that the cost of correcting those items would exceed $35,000 and may well exceed $35,000 by a significant amount".
    In the end I got the jobs done for $269 from outside contractor and did the work myself with friends for $1500 in material.

    My questions to Barnwood Group are:
    1.) You did not even come to my home to see what needs to be repaired nor did you talk to the city inspector and you say "you are certain" - you could have said I dont know till I actually come look at the jobs that are to be done. 2) The city has asked Mr. Buyer or me to correct the changes not to replace the items and give Mr. Buyer a newer home. 3) If your quote is an honest one and it may well be and all this is imagination on my part - it was still a far cry from $5000 to $15,000 that I was quoted to do the work.

    In my humble opinion there is a good chance you have used your professional status to lie and support a person who is trying to get the house price down by $30,000 from me just because he is a friend of yours.

    I have lived quietly in St. Louis park in the same area for 31 years and in this house for 19 years. Mr. Buyer with all his games and help from people like you have made this house sale a horrifying experience for me. If it were not for the kindness of the inspectors of SLP - who themselves did not respect what went on - I would have not survived this.

    After writing the review Mr. Buyer has asked my attorney I quote "The Barnwood guys are, understandably, upset about this and want Kavita to take down this post and anything else she may have posted in this regard. If she doesn't do so voluntarily, I'm confident they'll take whatever action is necessary to force her to do so - and I don't think that it would be fruitful for anyone to have to get more attorneys involved at this point."
    "Please get the Mehtas to cease and desist this conduct and encourage them to move on - if they don't I really don't have any ability to control or influence the course of action that Barnwood might pursue, and I know that they're very upset"

    Brian why is Mr. Buyer talking to my attorney on your behalf. What is the above about? There obviously is a deeper connection here. Perhaps in my opinion you were to get the contract to do extensive changes in the house which Mr. Buyer told me he would do once he bought the house. Now Mr. Buyer is feeling guilty he got you to lie for him so he is trying to clean things up for you?
