Bass Homes is the premier, affordable custom homebuilder on the gulf coast. If you do not see one of our models you prefer, bring us your custom home plans! Custom home pricing per square foot starts at $66 per square foot.
LOW PRICE GUARANTEE! We will beat any other reputable custom builders’ prices! And, we do it here at Bass Homes with the very best construction materials and craftsman available. We “stick-build” our homes – NO engineered walls or trusses. Standard roof decking is 5/8”. Our raised foundations are the very best: We pour cement footings under block piers and use 2 x 12-floor trusses with ¾”, tongue & groove (and screwed) floors. We DO NOT use vinyl exterior products on our homes: Exterior siding is fibrous cement board (Hardie Board). We even use Hardie on our fascia, soffits, and eaves, and under porches. We do all this for $72-$82 per square foot, and we have been doing it for over 30 years right here in south Alabama, with over 3000 homes constructed!
Our mortgage partners, Bay Mortgage Corporation, can offer a conventional, VA or FHA construction loan for 0%-5% down. This loan can also include your land/lot purchase.

*To minimize your out of pocket expenses, we can add closing costs, appliances, septic tanks, wells, driveways, sidewalks and landscaping to our contract price for qualified buyers.
*We have home sites available to purchase. Our inventory includes lots and acreage in the Stapleton area.
*We work very closely with our mortgage partner, Bay Mortgage Corporation. They can assist you in selecting the best financial product available for your needs. If you prefer a mortgage company or a hometown bank that you are more comfortable with, that is fine as well. We will be happy to work with them, also.

Bass Homes is not what they claim to be. These people are crooked. My family and I decided that we were ready to sell our home and build this year. We put down $3k with Bass Homes and chose a plan. We sold our home, moved into a camper. We backed out of the first plan because we were concerned with square footage. We then chose a larger house. We chose our piece of land and began the financing process for the land. Once we figured out that our land would not finance with the terms that we originally thought, we called Bass Homes to cancel building for now and hopefully pick up pace in a year. We were told that we would receive a refund for the entire $3k. I have been calling and messaging our sales agent Jim for two whole months. He repeatedly ignored my phone calls. Now, here we are a week before Christmas and Bill Bass decided to keep $1,000 of our hard-earned money. He says that he sent our plan to an architect (which created cost), but this is a bold-faced lie. We never started that process. I even asked for proof of the drawing being started. The finance lady named Crystal says that they cannot show me proof. I do not trust any person in this company. If I can't trust them in the beginning process, I will not be trusting them with any other part of my construction either. Merry Christmas Bill Bass.

I had BH build me a beach house.It had a drain leak under the shower that the plumber fixed but left the board off. I have called Eddie 8 times and Bill 2 times but after 3 months they will not come and replace the board. Eddie says he's to busy. I hope I can slow down his business and give him time. My house is just over a year old and we have spent thousands to fix so many issues. It was a nightmare. I paid extra for everything. Had trouble with all subs except the cabinets my cabinets are great. We had the whole exterior of our house repainted because the paint was soo cheap. None of the colors matched the sherwin Williams paint colors that I signed off on so I’m also in the process of painting interior rooms because they can’t be touched up. They cut the door trims for tile which is thicker than the floors we paid extra for. The tile in the hall bathroom fell into the tub and they had someone come in and paint the tub (that I paid extra for). It’s already faded and scratched. We only use that bathroom when we have guest so it is rarely used. We started having electrical problems two weeks ago so now we are interviewing electricians. Sadly I could still go on!
