Worst experience ever. It would take too long trying to hit every single thing that has happened since I contacted him to when I gave up on him. He took advantage us. He asked for the full amount even though his own contract (from Nov) stated 60% down/ Balance due upon completion. We ignorantly did pay him in full when he requested, promised he'd install within the week (dec 1st). Borrowed our paint sprayer for two months, and took two times of us asking for it back before we saw it again. Took measurements like 3 or 4 times. Ordered and bought the same material 3 or 4 times as well?? Kept lying about when install would be. Kept seeing the same BS response of next weeks and tomorrows when I'd ask him when he's coming. After two months of waiting after we paid him in full, we requested our money back. He ignored, then refused when we asked again. The wrong cut was made. I had to contact him DAILY to make sure we got our countertops done. It was a struggle, and I felt my blood drain when I started doing a little investigation. His license was REVOKED in Idaho for good. Before heading to Colorado to do the same sketchy business. I called the state's department of investigation and unfortunately have not heard back. He did "complete" my countertops mid February. Did an awful job, and when I told him to meet me at my house to go over the work he did, he went in while I was at work to do more half assed work to fix how he left it. I wanted him to tell me to my face that this crap was his final product. The quartz itself, pretty. The work around it? Half assed shit. Glad he got extradited to CO to face THEFT charges in Weld county. I hope you guys get your justice. He has a very nice home in Bellevue ID with all the money he's scammed us all from!!!

Be very careful with this guy, installed half of the job and left our kitchen torn apart now barely answering. Very very hard to get a hold of and delayed for months. Called and texted him at least hundred times, slick and sketchy.

Buck did a good job on our countertops. A little hard to get a hold of at times, but the finished product looks great.

Our experience of working with Buck was great! He kept in touch with us and let us know exactly when he would be coming. He finished all the work quickly and we are highly satisfied with the quartz countertops we had installed. Buck was able to remove our old countertops without breaking any of our backsplash. Would recommend!!

Working with Buck I had a great experience! He does beautiful work and pays great attention to detail. I've gotten work done from him on two separate occasions and he's done a friend of mine's kitchen as well, to no disappointment. Highly recommended.

I have been dealing with Buck since March of last yr. Gave down payment of $3300. I did finally in July get a few cabinets in my garage but just run around since then again. He is no longer responding. Do not trust him and if someone in Colorado with similar experiences would like to contact me text 9702152070

By Donna K.November 26, 2019Kitchen tile backsplash, quartz countertop, new sink, new faucet and garbage disposal install$5,100Read more
I too, now realize that I have really been scammed. I paid Buck Bates 3100.00 to install quartz countertops, a new sink, remove old tile backsplash, and install new tile, install new faucet and garbage disposal. He came to my house, I chose the quartz I wanted. I gave him a check for 2880. Then a few days later he said he needed an additional 350 because I chose a more expensive quartz. He came back to my house and picked it up. This was the end of Sept 2019, he said the latest it would be installed was October 17. I repeatedly called him to find out when this was being installed. The communication was sporadic at best. I finally messaged him on facebook and asked him for either my money back or my countertop. I never could get a definitive answer as to if my countertop was ready or not. Two weeks ago I started calling him every day. His phone kept going directly to voicemail, and no responses. I texted him several times. This is unbelievable to me, and I want my money back. Doing this countertop was a huge amount of money for me. I waited years to get one, he knew that. He also knows I am a single mom, taking care of my handicapped adult daughter who has lots of health issues. I feel so upset, and taken advantage of! In addition to stealing my money he even had me go buy all that tile, faucet, and garbage disposal! More money I did not need to spend. I have also contacted where he would have gotten this countertop, and spoke with them. He is not one of there contractors that purchase from them, and no countertop was ever ordered! I have also filed a report to the Attorney General's office. They suggested I contact the local police department I live in Colorado. He also lives here. BUYER BEWARE

By LeahSeptember 11, 2018Kitchen, bathroom, laundry cabinet remodel
What went wrong? I wish all of the above were an option. We hired the cabinet maker first for our remodel so that he'd have more than enough time to get the job done. Hired in February for a July 4th install. He disappeared and showed up to the job with one small piece (a door, a small box) every so many days. His work was shoddy and his math was worse. Beware.. If you would like details, I am one of many people you can call. There are several suppliers that will back this up as well. Buck is a scam, sham, and liar. 208.469.9125

I was so traumatized by our awful experience with Buck Bates that it has taken me this long to come to a closure on this fraud. In August of 2021 we contracted Buck Bates to do a major remodel at our home in Fort Collins Colorado. He needed all monies upfront so as to get the job done quickly and pay contractors 50% upfront to get work done quickly. Thruout this process he kept adding on and raiseing costs at bloated prices. At times we paid cash. All checks paid upfront amounted to $39,711. What we got was granite tops for kitchen and 3 1/2 baths at double the competitive price (only discovered at a later date) and one was damaged, tile flooring for baths and this too was shoddy work and we redid one of the bath floors. He did not pay the contractors so to prevent liens on our home we paid them again. We discovered early on that we were frauded but stayed in contract hoping that we could possibly get some work done. He had numerous excuses for no shows. This went from August to December. He was verbally abusive, lied and did shoddy work on plumbing (Colorado mandates a license for plumbing). He was not licensed for plumbing or general contracting. We also paid $3,500 for a bath vanity which we never received. We were contacted by an investigator with the state contractors board in Idaho who was looking for him for theft and other charges. I have their court documents and my contracts and checks if anyone could use this as testimony in their own case. He could not be located as he lives in motels and uses a relative and ex girlfriends address on his contracts and he could not be found. What he did to us is considered elder abuse in some states as we are in our 80's. We can provide further information for anyone interested.. Carol S. 530 263-2882
