I set up an appointment for a estimate regarding a roof. gutters and three skylights. Kevin arrived and stated he was not a Salesman but will give us a estimate. In the proposal was a $700.00 OSEA charge. Kevin stated that was a fee since OSEA makes the workers abide by there rules and slows them down. I could not believe it. The total proposal was approx. $10,000.00 more then my next two proposals. Kevin did not give us a written proposal but instead wrote the totals on the back of his business card. After speaking with other people I realized BCI is a total rip off'

Called BCI about a roof repair. Made appointment for them to come out to look at the project. While there they pointed out other work to be done. Kevin told me work did not need to be done right away. I asked for them to send me a proposal. Sent them an e-mail 1 week later saying I didn't yet receive the proposal. Never received a proposal for the work, but received a bill for it. Filed a lien on my house for the "bill"(Fraud-felony). Called them about it and told Larry Stern(owner) no work was ever done on my home.
He was very arrogant & said he will not remove it unless I paid. Through the conversation he contradicted himself several times. I later find out that the first guy they tried to schedule to come to my home was an old guy named Joe who doesn't even get on the roof. So it is clear they planned to scam from the beginning. This is a sleazy company. Even if you read reviews that they do good work, you don't know if you will be the person they they will set up to scam. Read reviews on companies, but really listen to the negative reviews as they are trying to help you to protect yourself from sleazy businesses.

I used BCI a few years ago and had a favorable experience. They did my roof. Found a few nails in the grass over the next few days, but I guess that is to be expected. Job was done in one day as we didn't have a huge roof. No problems after 6 years since it was done. Good job.
