I contracted John Beaver dba Beaver Construction to build my house in Chama NM. He abandoned the job. More than 31, 50-gallon trash bags were filled toe top--full of trash I had to collect. He refused to answer phone calls or effect any other response and actually admitted that to the judge. I had to take out a $50,000 mortgage to finish the garage as he milked my finances to the hilt. I sued him in the First District Court located in Tierra Amralla NM. He didn't bother to appear at the first deposition that took place in Santa Fe but after being severely admonished by Judge Raphaelson and threatened with a default judgment he appeared at the second. I was awarded a $128,000 judgment that included two elements where double damages had been awarded. He never contacted me to either set up a payment schedule or to undo/redo the poorly/incompleted work. Two weeks later I was notified he had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. He walked out of that court free as a jaybird with a shit-eatin' grin on his face while I was saddled with $40,000 in legal fees . Court case references will be suppled upon request as will four CD's illustrating the damages/incomplete/poorly completed work evident in a "Beaver-built" house.
