Bela Development

Bela Development is a great company and we can’t recommend them enough. We have now worked with them on two projects (one small, one large) and both experiences were positive. They are very responsive, willing to work with your budget, and transparent about the whole process. Michael was our project manager for both projects and everything ran smoothly with him. We had a few hiccups along the way, but he was great at keeping us calm, talking through our options, and helping us find solutions - all the things you want in a general contractor. Baldo, Bela’s subcontractor, does excellent, top notch work. Very clean, precise, and detailed. Highly recommend requesting working with them, you will not be disappointed!

The team was highly responsive during all communication, willing to make time fast to provide service. Polite and competent workers, great experience overall, would highly recommend for bathroom-related tasks!

Big shout out to Bela Development. And especially Michael. My wife and I hired Michael to take care of some extensive repairs. After 12 years of doing nothing, our place needed roof and deck repair. A busted pocket door. A broken bathroom mirror. Needed painting. Before any work started, Michael took his time to explain what should be done and why. He responded to text and messages. Went over costs and material. You feel vulnerable having home repair. With Michael I knew I was in good hands. He was honest. His team, professional. Especially Tito! Left our house spotless. Didn’t spill any paint. And didn’t break a six foot mirror. Don’t think there’s any job Michael and Bela Development can’t tackle.

This is the second review we are posting for Bela Development. The first was on Yelp in May of 2018, for our kitchen reconstruction. Based on the stellar job Bela Development did then, we hired them again for a full bathroom renovation and installation of windows. We are once again giving them 5 stars! Our bathroom looks beautiful. Ben and his team gave great design ideas, prepared detailed plans, listened to our wishes at every step of the process. The execution was expertly done by all his workers, who were all amazing and focused on all details to ensure everything came out great. We are especially delighted by the Venetian plaster, expertly applied, which gave our bathroom a modern, sophisticated feel. There were no negative issues in this project. We will hire them again!

Ben & Tom were with us through every step of the process. They quickly understood what our vision was, made great suggestions, and were super transparent and reasonable the whole time. We did a major project with them and, unlike stories you often hear with construction projects, there were NO surprises. So great to work with, and can't wait to work with them again on the next phases of our house!

The Bela team had our best interest in mind from start to finish! My wife and I were on a tight timeline to add onto our house during her pregnancy and the Bela team did everything they could to complete the project on time.

I have to give the utmost credit to Michael. Michael was and is one of the most impressive people in construction that I have had the pleasure of working with. He is caring, communicative and truly values his customers time. Michael listens and always takes the extra effort to ensure his customers are satisfied. We would not have been able to make this happen without him! Bela is so lucky to have Michael on the team.

Ben is a contractor like no other. He is very personable and very helpful. He goes out of his way to relate to his clients; always making sure that you are happy with the work they are providing. He is easy to talk to and easy to get a hold of. My husband and I are extremely happy to be working with him on our ongoing project.

We got a few quotes from different companies. We finally picked Bela because we were impressed by the project manager Ben how he presented the companies procedure and showed us 3D images from our bathroom to get some ideas.
Ben has been very professional and knowledgeable. He gave us a detailed overview about the work flow and payment installments. He kept us in the loop and gave us updated information throughout the process. We really appreciated his opinion and support with further questions regarding tiles, measurements, bathroom fixtures and designs. He was very communicative and answered our many questions in a good, timely manner. Even after our final walk through, Ben went beyond and above to get some minor cosmetics fixed. The crew did high quality work. They were very polite, fast and on time. Bela also took care of the permit and the inspections went without a problem. The payment schedule was very clear (no hidden fees) and online payments were an easy task. we are very happy with the outcome of our new bathroom and we have no regrets choosing bela We would definitely recommend Ben and his working crew.

Ben and the team at Bela Development are magic. When we were faced with an emergency awning collapse situation at 4pm on a Wednesday, I didn't know where to turn, but I found Bela on Yelp and couldn't me more grateful. Ben was extremely communicative and easy to work with, not to mention he had a team here by 8:30am the next day, ultimately finished and cleaned up by 2pm. Michael (the foreman) and the team were phenomenal. Their expertise was apparent but they were also kind, informative, calm, and patient. As new homeowners in a scary situation, I cannot imagine a better team to work with than Bela. Looking forward to working with Bela on our house project dreams for many years to come. Doing a remodel isn’t the easiest task , after reviewing 4 contractors, I’ve found this company located in Venice , they were very transparent, they provided a finish materials list , construction schedule and budget sheet which helps a lot to understand how much this project will end up , on top of everything they provided 3D design which is exactly what I wanted , very smooth sail , the team is nice friendly and super commutative.

We are extremely satisfied with the work that Bela Developments did for us. They painted our whole condo, changed the floors of our bedrooms, installed cabinets along two walls of one room, and patched up wherever was necessary automatically.

Under Shay’s directions, they are very coordinated, well organized, and the crew was very responsible. They finished the job well ahead of time because they didn’t stop in the middle to go to another job like so many others.

We highly recommend them as their performance was absolutely outstanding.

We had a great experience working with Ben and team for our condo bathroom renovations last year. The team was very responsive and communicative throughout the process. We communicated weekly via text and email and they returned calls quickly. The crew is very talented and reliable, especially their tile guy. They was very receptive to our feedback throughout the process. I definitely feel like they had our best interest at heart and despite some hiccups in the process (don’t buy Ikea cabinets - they are a plumbing code nightmare), they finished in a timely manner and we LOVE the end results. They stayed dedicated to the job until the very end, returning for minor finishing touches even months after completion of the job. The code requirements and permit process for City of Santa Monica condos were a bit of a headache. The process was a learning experience for Bela and for us and did cause a few weeks delay in the beginning but we were able to work through it together. Once the work was started the team was efficient and clean. We would definitely use them again and have recommended their services to our friends. I highly recommend Bela to anyone considering a renovation.

The Bela team transformed two of our bathrooms into exactly what we wanted for our house in Venice. Their design team was creative and patient. Bela also made the construction process as painless and fast as possible, even though renovating two bathrooms can be disruptive. They took ownership of every headache, and did so with good humor and patience. They paid attention to the even smallest tweaks and details, making sure the house was as clean and liveable as possible each night, and they paid special attention to our dog, too. We will be working them again soon!

We had several great challenges with my tiny bathroom project, but Ben, Tom and the crew took it on and helped transform our tiny packed bathroom into a highly functional and lovely spa like sanctuary. Great experience with Bela Development. Took our unusable garage space and turned it into a multi-purpose room that we can use as a gym, office, anything! Me and my wife were looking for a local Santa Monica company who can remodel our new condo a-z, bela were able to provide all service from design architecture enginnering all the way to the build, Ben tom yossi and the team did amazing job throughout the whole project, glad we chose this young company

This remodel was my first one and it was great working with Ben. Bela Development easily did the whole project of remodeling my bathroom in the promised time and it was great process throughout. The design process was quick , permits took about 2 weeks and project itself 7 weeks including inspections, the price was fair, and the workers were friendly. When working with Ben it was easy to communicate with him and he understood what I was looking for. I plan to use them in the future for all my needs.

I was referred to Bela from my next door neighbuor.
They had their kitchen done as well. My wife and I were surprised at how nice the job came out because, we never liked the idea of taking out the old cabinets.
After seeing the finished project we talked to their project manager Yossi and asked him to work on a design for our house. We were so impressed with the design that he showed us that we decided to move forward with the job. The job turned out beautiful and the guys were very efficient and kind.

This was a fun quick bathroom remodel project thanks to Eric and the Bela Development team. We were looking for a reliable company who can remodel our simple bathroom and take care of all the permits and city paper work. Bela and Eric were able to execute everything without any issues and very quickly considering the long waiting periods for inspections due to Covid. Very happy with the workmanship and communication the team brought and looking forward to use Bela Development again when we remodel our kitchen!
