Would not recommend. Didn’t finish the job we hired him to do. Timelines kept changing, very hard to get in touch with unless it was about payment. Now the roof he installed over our sunroom is leaking, texted multiple times and he refuses to answer. Multiple aspects of our job not finished—pass through window, caulking siding, trim in kitchen, etc. Skylight not sealed/caulked correctly leading to leaking roof. He demanded a final payment and was on his way over to pick it up saying he would be back to finish the job which never happened. Very bad experience.

DO NOT HIRE, Ben abandoned our project.
We hired Ben to build a two story garage, he completed 90% of the work but stopped showing up before the final inspection was completed. I contacted him daily for 2 months and finally heard back from him, I asked him to complete our work, or, at the very least, give us a new timeline for completion, which he did not offer. After 2 more months (4 months since he abandoned our project) our building permit was reaching its expiration. I had to intervene with the township to extend it and hire out for the remaining work. In addition to the inspection failure, we paid deposits on insulation, drywall and an HVAC system which he never installed. We also have had to hire out to correct the drainage on the building, since Ben designed our project with insufficient drainage and did not seal the ground-based portion of our building correctly. Our building takes on water when it rains, Ben confirmed, more than once, that he would fix it, but never did. Stay away from Ben Layser.
