    Windows Replacement

    I have to replace my old windows and I was in the search of good company which can do it without facing us relocating. By chance or its my good luck that I have a meeting with G&S and I am happy with their fast and quality service. They understood what I need and how fast they need to work and more than my expectation, they completed the replacement and we have a beautiful look. My roof need some work as well and I will definitely ask them to do it in the future.
    I am very happy with their excellent support.

    Over the years I have used G&S for a number of projects, window replacement, carport renovation and now a large door project. My South Windermere home was built in the 50's and when I spoke with G&S about updating my carport, I never imagined I would be so pleased. I had wanted it for so long and to have it materialize exactly as I wanted was a wonderful feeling. I continue to get comments and telephone calls about a what a difference it makes.

    David Steel of G&S Home Remodeling and builder/contractor for Ben McCormick Homes built a new home on undeveloped property next our property. Since the new build, water from that property now FLOODS our property like a river every time it rains washing away landscaping, displacing landscape timbers, mulch, plantings, washing cubic yards of sand and dirt from the builds landscaping onto our grass, causing ponds of standing water and potential deterioration to our fence. This concern has been addressed with the builder on multiple occasions from the beginning of construction, until he sold the property, and even now. Mr. Steel assured us that he would correct the drainage issues and kept reassuring us that it would be taken care of. However, instead of correcting the issues I feel he has dragged this along until he sold the property.

    There are several open complaints with the City of North Charleston Public Works and Code Enforcement and have overlapped the sale of the house. The city has a drainage plan that was not followed by the builder and is directing excessive amounts of stormwater onto the adjacent property. This information is known to the builder, but was not told to the realtor and subsequently the buyer of the property.

    Additionally, the builder had trees on the property that were overgrown and damaged the roof of the adjacent property causing damage. These were not addressed until roughly 1-2 weeks prior to property being sold.

    The builder claims to be experienced and of the highest quality, so why is it that properly providing drainage was not done? In my opinion, the most likely answer is that they intentionally decided to drain the water to our property because it was the quickest and cheapest way to resolve their drainage issue.

    In summary, it is my opinion that this builder has knowingly channeled water onto our property and it is my hope that they will do the responsible thing and correct the drainage issues. Until this is resolved, I can not in good conscience recommend this company.
