BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! 7/ 09/2022
Hired this this guy to be our GC on our home remodel in Dallas, BUYER BEWARE! He will show you many project pictures of example work and loves to brag about all the million dollar homes he has done work on when in fact he doesn’t do hardly any of the work, he just calls in other contractors and tells you to pay them direct. He constantly tells you he is trying to save you money changes his pricing fees mid way through this work, he will give you a quote for a project, you agree he them will switch and tell you he would rather be paid by the hour saying this works better for everyone once again saving you money! You guessed it, this works only for him to get paid more, his team of two Raymond & John are very nice but have very limited experience and he talks down to them or yells degrading them in front of my wife and I. He had one Sheetrock guy working for him and yelled at him in our home as they both disagreed on how to float a wall, the sheet rock guy walked out and quit rightfully so! He brought in a hardwood flooring guy named Omar and his assistant names Aby, they installed hardwood floors in our place, they left the flooring in our garage for a month after asking both Bennie and Omar on many occasions if we needed to put the flooring in our home to climatize, they said no it was fine in the garage! They installed our flooring and within a eeek the floor started to ripple, Omar said he would make this right and come back to fix it after he came and back to our home to see the issues, he never showed up ever again or returned any of our calls for over a month of us trying to reach him. He did text us out of the blue and promised to come back to sand and refinish the floors, our mistake is we paid all these guys up front, serious lesson learned! When we contacted Bennie as this guy was hired through Bennie and under Bennies GC insurance Bennie said nothing he would do to fix our floors, it wasn’t up to him to take it up with Omar, he stated he wouldn’t even offer any amount of money to reimburse or help pay to fix not even meet me halfway, then stated take me to court but I’m not going to pay you a dime. This guy is a crook, unethical, sloppy work, I now question if he knows how to do anything. We also paid him in full to demo our kitchen, he didn’t finish this job but kept our money, no reimbursement or has not kept his promise to finish the project.
We have now had to hire another flooring company to come in and re- sand and refinish the botched job and another $2600 later.
Do NOT EVER HIRE this guy, this is the type of person that gives general contractors a bad name in the business and a perfect example Of who to never hire. Lesson learned, call references, where they say they do the work make sure they do the work or know up front they will just shop your work out to any contractors, know this beforehand and never pay a con man like this by the hour or let him into your home.
