We decided to use Bens Carpentry after good reviews from our neighbor on their porch installation
I hired Bens Carpentry after great reviews from our neighbor to complete two projects back in July 2021.
pantry shelves refinish apply penofin to Mahagony front doors
There were numerous delays to both projects. The shelves as you recall were nailed to my pocket pantry door by your worker. It damaged the door and the new shelves when the screws were removed so the door would open and close.
The owner Ben sent your teenage "niece" to spackle and paint. The job was poorly done and after several weeks he came and fixed it. Which I appreciated.
The front door took two months of back and forth with his one worker. It was clear that this was not a priority and done in between other "more important" jobs.
The door had intricate carved moldings which were to be hand sanded. The worker to save time used a power sanded and "leveled off" some of the modeling. In addition, they used the wrong grit sandpaper and the Penofin did not adhere properly to the wood.
I had damaged verified by three different sources.
the insurance company ruled that the damage caused by Bens Carpentry was work related negligent workmanship (He does not have insurance to cover this)
Penofin conducted an investigation and found that the door was improperly sanded, based on the information you provided in the investigation report
I hired another professional carpenter and provided you his notes and repair estimmate. He concluded that both the modeling/door were damaged due to negligent workman ship, improper prep and sanding
I send you the invoice for repair from Raider Carpentry on 4/19/22 and asked if you would 1) prefer to pay raider directly for the repairs or 2) issue me a refund in the amount of $1200 which I paid Ben Carpentry for the door project.
Initially he agreed to refund me the money but he as not upheld his word.
