I wish I had looked at this page before we hired this man. We bought property in the subdivisions he lived in, and was a property manager. Talked like he was a good Christian man and a deacon of his church.
So in 2020 we found some property we loved, Roger told us we could build the house we wanted for 350-400k. We had cash because we had sold some things. Then it was more money more money and cashiers checks under the 10k mark. Long story short we started seeing after over 300k invested that he was a con man and thought well we will get the windows and doors put in (which he got mad we went and bought them ourselves) and put the siding on by someone else. We could not anfford to keep building this house. It was more like an 500-700k home depending on the finishing touches. To then find out that we have almost 300k in structural damage !!!!! The house was not framed level , the front porch was already sagging where he poured it on roof sheet metal. And not properly stabilized in the basement. I have MS and could not get around back to see that and my husband at the time had a lot of issues with his feet and did not go around back. So we was blindsided by this.
He says he has no insurance but I do not believe him. I know God will take care of us out of the money we lost if we never get a penny out of him. But this was heartbreaking. This was going to be our dream home instead it was a nightmare.
We was blessed to sell it at a HUGE loss.
This man is a liar and a con man.

Like other reviews here, Roger Pence has performed shoddy, unfinished work on repairs in my rental house. His negligence and poor performance has dramatically reduced the value of the house which I was hoping to sell.
I have since found out that he has been in front of the contractor licensing board at least once but they failed to yank his license.
According to local newspapers he has been sued by at least one customer.
He needs to lose his license. Maybe multiple complaints will do the trick. If anyone else is interested in pursuing a complaint against this man and his business, please email me at [email protected]

Roger Pence is definitely a no hire. He was working on my home rebuilding everything. At first he would finish jobs but at his own pace. It got to a point my husband & I trusted him. After that he would ask for money for jobs that were never completed but paid for. Roger even was asking for money for future jobs to be paid to him saying he was struggling. In the end Roger kept all our money, never finished the jobs & never bought materials to even start jobs. Roger basically robbed us for thousands, never returned phone calls or texts & eventually changed his number. He is not to be trusted he is definitely a con man.

Do not hire this contractor. Like Derek R hired this individual to build a Sun Room and storage building. Took him over two months to build a 8.5 x 11 room. He would tell me he was coming and not show. I did pay for the job even though there were minor things to be completed. Then with the storage shed, he walked off the job without hanging the doors. This two he was paid for because of sad stories being told. Roger will not respond to txt messages or phone calls. He was also suppose to do some deck repairs after completion of the building, purchased all the materials and it is now sitting in my yard.

Do not hire this contractor he is fraudulent. Bentz contracting is the exact type of contractor that gives contracting a poor name. Roger has completely left us in the worst shape imaginable. He was hired to remodel a bathroom, and he was fairly diligent for two weeks. He asked for payments up front on several occasions and was given payment, and disguised other payments as payment for materials he needed, which he criminally overcharged for. During the job, he left a valve open that poured water into the bathroom and subsequently the ceiling of the living room. He would not take responsible for or even apologize for the damage. He promised the job would be finished in 3 weeks and he had to be fired after 9 after he ceased to continue to show up. DO NOT hire this man it is fraudulent.
