    fence
    $12,000

We first had a fence installed by them 2 years ago and the entire process went well. We wanted a vinyl privacy fence installed with two gates, each having a key-pad lock for additional security. When getting estimates, I had a good feeling about Dan, the owner - he was friendly, punctual, & knowledgeable. Once we decided to work with Bespoke, Dan took care of everything from start to finish - securing the permit, scheduling the work, etc. The crew was fast, and the fence looked great. It wasn't until we decided to move a year later that the town informed us that we had an open fence permit and couldn't sell because the final inspection had never been performed. I called Dan and he took care of it immediately, stating that he hadn't realized the final inspection never took place. Therefore, when we decided to install a fence at our new house I only called Bespoke, without receiving any other estimates because things went smoothly with them just a year earlier. This time around it was like we were working with a completely different company and there were setbacks EVERY step of the way. After signing a contract with them, it took nearly a month for them to even submit the permit application to the village. My emails and phone calls went unanswered for weeks when I was attempting to find out if they had sent in the application. Once the village finally received the application there were critical pieces of information that were missing - the city needed a plat of survey with the proposed fence drawn on it, they needed the specifications for the electrical gate, and they needed a copy of the electrician's license. All of these things seemed pretty straight forward to me; however, it took another several months (and many more unanswered emails and phone calls) before Bespoke submitted anything to the village. In fact, I was so tired of waiting that I took it upon myself to send in the plat of survey with the proposed fence drawn on it; I just placed the fence where I wanted it to go and sent it in that day - done! After 5 months of back and forth with the paperwork we were finally ready for the installation. I had to leave work early to pick up the permit from the village and schedule the first inspection (apparently nobody at Bespoke was available to do their job and I was trying to avoid further delays). On the day of installation, the crew arrived without any materials because they thought that the fencing had already been delivered. Therefore, they left to pick up the materials, couldn't finish digging the posts, and missed the inspection that day. As it turned out, not enough material had been ordered and we had to wait for more fencing to arrive. In addition, the parts that the electrician needed for the gate had not been ordered, which took another 2 weeks. In the mean time, the electrician had requested for the fence crew to install the gates in a particular direction so that the electrical box would be positioned inside the yard, instead of outside the fence. The fence installers had asked which way I wanted the gate to open, and I selected the "wrong" direction because I was unfamiliar with how the electrical would be hooked up, so the electrician had to waste time reinstalling the gates in the proper direction. Despite all the setbacks, our final invoice arrived within hours of the fence being completed, requesting payment that day - so there is no delay in billing, that's for sure. The final invoice did not include the correct amount that I paid for a deposit, so I had to request a new invoice and notified Bespoke that I would not be paying the balance until the final inspections had passed. After all is said and done, we are happy with the fence, but extremely disappointed in the customer service and lack of communication that occurred while working with Bespoke recently.

We had bespoke fence come out in the spring to install a chain link fence. Too many problems to list with the installation that took weeks to complete. It was supposed to be a 2 day job. We had issues with the workmanship of the fence. When I addressed with Dan Pappas, his response, “why did you pay?” He eventually comes out and seems to be the nicest guy in the world. Takes full ownership and commits to having a crew come out on June 2. Nobody shows. He makes up some excuse and I have been trying to reach him for two months. Brand new fence and we’re already rusting. We have a business owner hiding from us.

    Fence

I’m a believer in supporting your neighborhood/local businesses. Our family has always made this a priority especially during difficult times for businesses during the pandemic. I need a new yard fence for an income property I own so I reached out to our neighborhood fence company Bespoke Fence located at 2737 w. 111th St Chicago, Il to give them the business. I called and scheduled to meet one of the employees for an estimate on the morning of March 29, 2021. While at the property for the scheduled appointment I received a call from Bespoke apologizing that their employee won’t be able to make it for the estimate as he had a family emergency so understanding that I said ok no problem. Bespoke wanted to come out at the end of the week for the estimate however I was going to be out of town, the secretary said I didn’t need to be there and that they will come out on April 3rd to conduct quick estimate. I said ok I’ll leave the current gates unlocked for him to gain access. Approximately a week after April 3rd I had not heard from Bespoke so I called April 13th to inquire, the secretary said she would find out what was going on, do a follow up and get back to me. Another week passes and I still have not heard from Bespoke so I drive to their office on April 28th to inquire about the estimate, I’m explaining to the secretary the date history and failure to get back to me. While I’m explaining the issue a gentleman is sitting in the same room he introduces himself to me as Jack Pappas, he apologizes for what has been happening, he gives me his personal cell number he then told me to touch base with him and he’ll come out and do the estimate. I touch base with Jack Pappas on April 30th and by agreement we set up to meet for estimate on May 4th at 8:30am. On May 4th I arrived at property for estimate, waited an hour until 9:30am and left without any contact from Mr. Pappas or anyone from Bespoke. I would not recommend this business as I have went above and beyond to give them business. Customers should not have to chase a business it works the other way. There are too many choices however I tried to support local only to be disappointed. Hopefully better luck with Fox Home Center and Fence in Alsip,Il. John Haggerty

    Replace cedar fence
    $2,800

They were a great company to work with to replace our cedar fence that was damaged in a wind storm. He was prompt in returning our calls, and then came out with the best price. They did a wonderful job on our new fence and used quality posts and boards. I would highly recommend them.
