Best Home Remodeling is a family run company co-owned by Haim Zonenchin and his cousin Assi Zvik. Between the two of them, we have over 45 years of construction, remodeling, and repair experience. In 2018, they decided to join forces to deliver quality craftsmanship at fair prices to homeowners in the East Bay.

Haim Zonnenchin began his career as a young handy man over two decades ago and built a construction empire that oversaw multiple crews on major renovations from residential to commercial. After a brief hiatus to focus on his family, he joined forces with his cousin to create a company to focus on the personal renovation needs of each customers. The main goal is complete customer satisfaction no matter the size of the job. As the Co-Owner of Best Home Remodeling, he finds that his experience of 25+ years in construction, as well as his ethics, and superior craftsmanship reassure clients and potential clients as they start the investment in their home and their everyday life.

For over twenty years, Assi Zvik has worked in various aspects of construction and remodeling starting from when he was young. He has worked both as crew as well as the Project Manager which simultaneously oversaw many crews and projects throughout the Bay Area. However Assi found that he missed personal connection with the clients as they started planning major home renovations of a kitchen or bathroom renovations; therefore he started a custom countertop company. His attention to detail, craftsmanship, and remodeling knowledge is also seen here in Best Home Remodeling where even as the Co-Owner of the business with his cousin Haim, he enjoys interface with the clients on every stage of the process. The clients appreciate Assi's forthright approach of the projects budget and timelines so that there are no surprises and projects are executed with care while keeping them on time and on budget.

    Bathroom Remodel project

    Started with a plan to replace claw foot tub with walk-in shower, leaving much of the rest of the bathroom intact, but quickly mushroomed into an almost total reno. Assi, the project manager, initially was at my house for 20 minutes, knew what needed to be done and how to do it and emailed his bid the next day. The other 2 guys I got estimates from were really not sure what had to be done and had to keep calling their offices for help in figuring it out. Also they were here for HOURS trying to get me to sign a contract and pay them a deposit - lots of pressure, very unpleasant. Everyone who has worked here - demo guys, electrician, tile setter and plumber were great and I felt comfortable with them being in my house. Assi was actively involved and here almost every day. When the plumber set the shower fixture too low it was reset readily. Assi worked with me readily to find the materials I wanted and now that it is almost complete I love it. I have no hesitation in recommending Best Home Remodeling for any project.

    Tile Flooring project

    Best Home Remodeling not only did a great job with the slate tile flooring of my kitchen. They also gave lots of attention to what I wanted. They have great knowledge of materials and treatments and various options. BHR got me the tiles I wanted even though the local supplier was out of them! Everything was done on time, everything was explained, and they are super responsive to texts and emails. Will certainly call BHR again.

    Haim Zonenchin has "contracted" with us on many projects. They were all brought in on budget and in a timely fashion. We are happy with the results and enjoy using these improvements on a daily basis!
    The job site was always left clean, the employees always knew how to proceed, did good work and were prepared to move the job forward. It makes a big difference if the energy on the job site is positive and collaborative. Haim is also good at working with building inspectors and getting the stages of the job signed off so that things can move forward!!!
    They re-built an apartment building we owned. They added onto our deck and installed a cedar hot tub. They built a free standing carport for us that we saw and admired in the Berkeley Hills. They were able to copy this structure exactly and we have a lovely car port to prove it.
    I would not hesitate to hire Haim and his experienced crew.

    Haim and his crew have done work for me on various projects for at least 15 years.

    They have reconfigured my office, remodeled 2 bathrooms in my home, built external staircases and decks. They’ve also installed a gas heaters and a kitchen stove hood.

    They work quickly and efficiently putting long hours if necessary, all at a fair price. I won’t hesitate to call Haim for my neit project.

    Haim and his workers remodeled my kitchen, bathroom, and put in recessed lighting in two rooms of my house. They did a great job. When people come over they can't believe it is the same house. I highly recommend them.

    I highly recommend Home Best Home Remodeling. They have been wonderful to work with from start to finish. They are on top of every detail and very supportive. Haim's great at keeping things on track and making sure things are done top notch. He has so much experience he can come up with ideas to make the job extra special and help you made the decisions that need to be made along the way with any project. I have used Haim and his crew for several projects I am sure I will again.
