    I had a similar experience with Bethel Construction. We hired them to do paint and do some drywall repairs. The final invoice contained many items that weren’t even done and prices were higher than quoted. The worst part is unauthorized purchases. He bought many items for other jobs, things not used on my house.

    I hired Bethel Cleaning and Construction to rebuild my home after the 2016 Flood in Baton Rouge, La. I met with Andres Arevald, the owner. We discussed the work that needed to be done and agreed on a price and a completion date. The date of completion was supposed be December (prior to Christmas). He did not meet that deadline. However, my family and I had no place to go because the lease on the apartment we were in was up and honestly, I couldn’t afford to pay rent and a mortgage. I discussed this with Andre and we agreed that my family would move back home and the crews would work around us. Fast forward to February…they were “done with the repairs”. Well we did the walk through and everything (except for a few minor things) looked good. After a while I started to notice grout crumbling, paint peeling, crown molding separating and showing cracks, light fixtures fell, electrical sockets cracked because the sockets were not secured properly prior to putting the plates on. He also did my roof and shingles are lifting, the soffit and facia has warped. In addition to the faulty work, Andres presented a final invoice to me which contained over $5,000 of undone work, conflicting receipts (with other people’s address) and unauthorized purchases (Christmas lights for their homes, power tools, and truck racks to names a few things).I have been contacting Mr. Arevald for over a year asking that he repair his repairs. He makes appointments and never show, show up and promise to come back and never come back. He started ignoring my calls and texts. So, I gave a review on his Facebook page…he took the page down. But prior to taking the page down he took a screenshot and sent it to me. Now he texts me with taunts and rudeness. I have repeatedly asked him to not contact me. BUYER BEWARE!!! If you used him for your work...check your receipts and make sure all charges are accurate.
