If I could give zero stars I would.
Let's put aside the fact that he finished over a month behind schedule, installed faucets that just spun freely and tiles that were never secured. Hugo and his team of poorly qualified workers, pushed to us to add the basement bathroom under the porch. In order to do so, he would have to dig out no less than 6 feet of earth. He charged us extra promising a "perfect bathroom".
We were on a trip when the finishing work was done. When we came home, the pipes were frozen and one had burst! Come to find out, he framed out the bathroom DIRECTLY against exposed earth. No concrete to seal against the wood, no moisture protection.
When we brought this to him, he came out, blamed it on a curb trap- stuffed insulation in between the beams and then promply stopped answering our calls.
About a month ago, we saw BLACK MOLD starting to appear along the baseboards in the basement bathroom. When I pull the sheet rock, there was black mold completely along the entire bottom of all the framing throughout the entire basement! He did NOTHING to protect the sheet rock and beans from the earth that was directly against the all the wood and rock.
We have since began working with his insurance company and have filed suit against him with the city and sent everything to the state board of licenses.
His insurance company just came out to do an appraisal. The insurance company has said that he is not even answering them to address the claim!
No matter what you do, stay away from this company and Hugo! He is a liar and a complete thief.
