I received a voicemail regarding a message I left pertaining to an estimate that I never received. The message left by the secretary said she sent the estimate at 1746 hrs Thursday 28 April. It wasn't the email address I gave the estimator on Monday 25 April when he showed 1.5 hours late to the appointment I scheduled 1 week in advance. It also isn't the email address I gave over the phone to the secretary on Wednesday 27 April when I called the office because the estimate that I was promised Monday was now 2 full days late. Yet again, I find myself emailing regarding an estimate that is now 5 days late because of a series of logistical failures on their end.
I will reiterate the message I attempted to convey yesterday when I called the office. I schedule my appointment a week in advance; they some how forgot my appointment. No phone call, no courtesy. I had to call after I had been waiting at the property for an hour and no one showed up. From that point I had to wait another, almost two hours, for a stand-in estimator. The estimator was nice, he did his job well. I was promised an estimate by close of business Monday. Never got it. Got a call around 1900 hrs Monday stating I would have my estimate Tuesday. Tuesday, no estimate. I called, they promise me an estimate Wednesday. I call Wednesday, they tell me I'll have it Thursday. Thursday, no estimate because transcription seems to be an issue. This after having verbally dictated my email address to two points of contact at the company. Some how zeroesin my email address became 1's when my estimate was now 5 days late.
I pursued an estimate with the company because my business partner recommended them. We've used the company at some of the flip houses we have renovated. I typically use Pyramid Roofing and now I know why. When I schedule and appointment for 0800, they show up 15 mins early. My estimates are prepared on site and if they aren't I get them within 24 hrs without having to chase someone down for their business.
The failures here have cost them my business. I'm no longer interested in receiving my estimate. I vehemently encourage potential clients and business associates to look elsewhere for roofing services. You can expect that I will most certainly share this experience with other potential clients on Angie's list, Home Advisor and other similar services. I will also note that I am sure the company will post a reply somewhere stating that they did everything to rectify the situation, they emailed an estimate blah blah blah. That would be a complete fabrication. These are the raw facts. Poor customer service. No follow-up. Late for appointments. Failure to deliver an estimate on time. Run-around. If you want a solid roofing company with great service hire Pyramid Roofing or United Roofing Corporation, both based out of Va Beach. Excellent companies to work with.
